All the symptoms of your AC system needing a recharge. When the AC system is low on refrigerant, the compressor will constantly turn on and off as it requires at least 15psi of refrigerant to engage. Have your system recharged to solve your problem.

It is "cycling" off and on. Usually an indication of low freon charge. Can you add some freon to the system to see if this cures it?

When I turn the engine off the engine cooling fan stays on and does not shut off

depending on the engine temperature the fan is supposed to remain on after you turn the engine off, until the engine reaches a preset cooler temperature. when it reaches cooler temperature usually within 5 minutes or so it should cut off... if you cut it off and it is running 30 minutes later.. then there is a problem with the fan relay or temperature sending unit.

My cooling fan wont turn on and engin stays at normal temp. how do i know im getting a correct reading i did have to replace the radiator replaced

electric fans only run when it needs to. There should be a Thermal switch on the radiator. Short that switch to Ground and fans should run. Turn On AC and one fan should run.

If the thermalstat not in will it run hot with it out

Yes. the fluid will circulate too fast to keep the coolant cool. in order to cool of the engine off the fluid needs to stay in the radiatar longer.

1985 fordf-150 inline6 wont shut off

if it seems to be stumbling when you turn it off but keeps running then you likely have carbon buildup on the valves, pistons or plugs .. the carbon stays hot and keeps the engine running even without spark .. usually if you hit the gas once it cools the hot carbon and the engine quits .. i suspect your f150 is never run fast .. a romp in passing/second gear once in a while usually keeps it clean .. there is special cleaner you can run thru to clean out the carbon .. you can get that an any auto parts store .. make sure the plugs are the correct heat range .. plugs that are designed for oil burning engines stay cleaner but may be too hot .. that can cause the same problem ..

now if your engine runs on smoothly with the key off then i would suspect a problem with the ignition switch or wiring
