Question about 2007 Ford Expedition EL XLT

1 Answer

Emission Light is on the Dashboard and the engine and A/C is out

Emission Light is on the Dashboard and the engine is sputtering - Concurrenly, the AC unit went out and is now blowing hot air. None of this was happening when we took the vehicle in for standard warranty issue at the Dealership last week. The Climate Control Seats needed to be reset - per known engineering issue.
Thanks,

Frustrated.

If your new vehicle Bumper to Bumper Warranty is still Valid, go back to your Dealer, with a Warranty/Policy Claim, on the current fefects.

Engine/emission check sign

The best thing to do is take it to an autoparts store and have them read the codes for the light. They do this for free. I can tell you that an oil change and tune up wont be able to fix this.

My 98 jimmy sputters and oil pressure fluctuates

Hello
When the service engine soon light (Also called the check engine light or engine management light) is turned on this is to alert you to the fact that Powertrain Control Module (computer) has detected a failure somewhere in the systems it controls you may not feel any difference in the way the engine runs, this can be the transmission or the engine or emission system, there are fault codes set in the modules memory for these faults. What needs to happen now is to have the powertrain control module scanned with a special tool called an OBD2 electronic engine control scanner or a OBD2 code reader. Once the code(s) are read then you must perform the diagnostics for each code and make the appropriate repairs based on the findings of the diagnosis that was performed, this is called doing "Pinpoint" testing.

Engine warning icon on my dashboard indicates emission problem can I still drive my car until repaired

As long as the light is yellow and not red you are fine to drive . The yellow is just a caution light . If any red lights come on thats when you need to stop or not drive it

My 2002 Lincoln LSE check engine light is blinking. It was solid briefly, but is now blinking. The car is sputtering, especially as I increase in speed, and in 2nd and 3rd gears. My bf accidently put...

The blinking is a single that continued driving without fixing the problem may ruin the emission systems and the motor itself. It needs to go to a qualified repair shop to be checked out.

INTEGRA 87 FSM, EMISSION TEST FAILS WHEN ENGINE IS WARM OR HOT, COOL IS OK!

Is the check engine light ( PGM-FI ) light on the dashboard came on?
There is a ECU ( computer ) under the passenger seat.
Count the number of red LED light flashing.
Usually it is the oxygen sensor problem if you see 1 light flashing.
If there is not check engine light, do tune up and if that does not fix the problem, check the catalytic converter.

1998 nissan altima dashboard display engine service soon

Hello and thank you for using FixYa!

The service engine soon light comes on when a fault is detected in the emission system. The service engine soon light is the same thing as a check engine light. A scan tool will be needed to get the code for the failure, so the proper repairs can be made.

Thanks Jay!

Red light on dashboard on Suzuki Escudo (Vitara)

It could mean that some emission-control device has failed or is due for replacment. Common items would be oxygen sensor (not too expensive) and catalytic convertor (pretty expensive).
