Question about 1996 BMW 318
Loosen off the alternator about 1 inch, then slip off the belt, replace belt, then re-adjust alternator till its bolts are finger tight, check the movement in belt by pushing down on belt with finger till it moves only 1 inch of movement, on the longest part of the belt )......then tighten the alternator bolts
