no strain on the engine. it does get going and cools after an hour or so on the highway (on a trip this week), but in town in warm weather it struggles. also, the air is not any cooler on the "recirculate Max-air" setting...and on that setting it starts initially with a "stale refrigerator" odor

When activating the AC can you hear a strain on the engine or the clutch cycling on the compressor?

For 25-30 dollars you can get a charge kit with leak detector and solve any of your own questions yourself. That would seem to be your best venue to take at this point.

My 2007 Dodge Ram 2500 has just a little cool air AC compressor is engaging and high press or line frosts up byfirewall

I would suspect low refrigerant. If you have access to set of hoses or gauges check it out., or buy a can of refrigerant ant parts store and add 1 can. Spend the extra and buy recharge kit with hose, gauge and refrigerant. If you don't feel confident about doing this take it to a repair shop and have it done. Go to YouTube there will several videos of how to do this. Be careful.

The air conditioner on our 2007 Dodge Ram 1500 hemi will not cool the cab when it gets above 70 degrees. There is freon in the system air cold. It's impossible to use in the summer. Any suggestions?

close off the cab circulation to the outside air
make sure that the condenser fan is fully operational
fan in front of the radiator
have an accredited ac specialist check the gas pressures are correct --if there is excessive gas the high pressure switch will shut the ac compressor down
shut off the heater system as it it is a climate control system , there may be still hot air mixing with the ac air

2007 Nissan Altima air conditioner & heater takes a long time to come on

Your Air Conditioner might be low on refrigerant. If the AC doesn't cool down and had signs where it took a while to start cooling, you likely have a slow leak. It could be that an O ring wore out and started leaking, or a hose developed a leak. Rubber components tend to be the first parts that wear out over a period of time. A shop can confirm if your 134A refrigerant leaked out of the system.

My 2000 Dodge Ram 2500 Diesel is not putting out hot air, air comes out the vents I select and fan works fine but at best it will only put out slightly warm air. If I turn the fan up past the first...

Check your anti freeze level.... Also, is your engine heating okay, may be the thermostat? Anything else, find where both radiator lines go into the firewall, if the engine is hot, both lines should be hot, if one is hot and the other cold, you need to look at the heater core..

Air conditioning not blowing cool air

To get the refrigerant in you have to have a technician purge the system first. Hope that helps.

Check the obvious - fluid level up to par? If so go back to dealer (unfortunately) since their fix was not permanent.
