Make sure you have removed the screws on the face of the part of the rotor where the threaded studs are sometimes they won't come out and you must use a 1/4 inch drill bit to drill them out then proceed to use a 2 - 4 lb sledge hammer to hit the face of the rotor being careful not to hit the threaded studs that bolt the wheel on this should free up the rotor, be sure not to hit too hard or wheel bearing damage may occur.

I removed the caliper & caliper bracket but rotor won't come off.


Im not sure what kind of car this is but first make sure there are no bolts on the front holding the rotor to the hub , if there are no bolts then the rotor is frozen to hub, you will need to beat the rotor off, using a hammer kit the rotor with force and turn every so often, hit it from the area where the caliper sat. good day.

How do i get brake rotor off? do i need to take axle nut off?


once the caliper is off and the rotor won`t come off then you will have to hit the rotor with a hammer near the wheel studs to loosen it from rust.

Stuck front rotor on 2004 ford escape


hear is the perseger for removing the rotor. if the rotor it stuck to the hub use a large soft mallet or a 2X4 and a larg hammer place the wood on the eafge of the rotor to kept from marking the braking surface. then hit the wood with the hammer.

Truck wont crank. we have put new distributor cap, rotor button, coil pack, plugs, wires, and fuel pump. we also checked our firing order.


you said you repl dist cap that means you don't have a crank sensor you have electronic ing module. remove your elec ing module have it tested most auto parts stores could test your module, or check your coil at the neg terminal. should have power. if not you lost your primary volt from your batt.your secondary power is coming from your electronic ing module from the module to the pos terminal on the coil, when the eng cranks,from the coil to the dist cap , from the dist cap center to the rotor then out to the plugs,this all happen pervided the timing belt or timing chain is ok. the cumbustion chainber needs 3 things , thats fuel, air, and spark.

Cant get the rotor button off of my 1992 volkswagon cabriolet


have you check to see if it is held on with a bolt that goes into the side of the rotor shaft.if so then it is probably a 10mm socket(3/8 socket might work)if it doesn`t then it is stuck to the distributor shaft and the rotor will have to be broken to remove.take some fine sand paper and clean the distributor shaft with it so the new rotor won`t be hard to install.

I am trying to remove my front rotor from a 2000 95 saab. I removed the caliper, 1 retaining bolt for the rotor to the hub, and it won,t budge. I have a puller on it, put heat to it, beat it with a hammer....


Is the caliper off? or at least swung away from the rotor. The only other thing holding the rotor to the hub is 2 small phillips head screws. If it still does not come off it is binding at the centre on the hub. Be careful of heating the hub as this may damage the wheel bearing. WD40 on the centre portion of the rotor along with hammering around the outer rim of the rotor may release it. Rotate the rotor as you tap on the edge. If the rotor is due for replacement anyway you can hammer away.

My `93 subaru legacy 2.2 turns over but won`t start


Could be as simple as a new rotor and distributer cap. As the rotor and contacts inside the cap wear, it will take more and more revolutions to get it to catch.

Discs won`t come off Honda


Did you remove the two phillip head retaining screws that hold the rotor to the hub? Also, if there is alot of corrosion around the center of the hub, the rotor might be stuck in place. In that case, you'll have to tap the rotor with a hammer to break it free.
