Question about Toyota Camry

1 Answer

The tachometer was showing about 1,500 RPM more it should be.

I have Toyota Camery 2006 with 24,000 miles. When I turn off the car the tachometer was reading 1,500 RPM and when I started up the tachometer was reading 2,500 RPM and at any speed the tachometer was showing about 1,500 RPM more. The car sound normal and I know there is a problem with the tachometer reading. also the temperature gauge is reading higher than normal but the car is not over heating.

If the miles turn fine and the speed arm doesnt move you have a problem with the tachometer this is refeered to as RPM,This get is signal directly at the ignition negaive part if the coil, If the connection at the coil is in good order a RPM gauge or Tachometer will be your solution

Strart but RMP is up to 1,500 Hi!!! Sienna 2005... and I've changed the spark plug. The throttle body and the air intake were removed. I'm cleaned the Throttle and now the rpm is high @ 1,500...

the problem started after you removed the throttle bady? if so then something was put back in the wrong place like vacuum hoses, if the problem was allready there and the check engine light is on, you should take it for a read see what comes up. thanks

Does a 2004 camery have a timing belt or a timing chain

2004 Camery has a TIMING BELT.

Recommend to be changed at 90,000 miles or 72/moths.

Hope this tip helps.

What is the redline on my 1993 (4-speed) Toyota Tercel? (I am trying to install a tachometer)

idle 800 rpm max rev 3500 rpm any more causes the valves to burn out and the piston rings to break which is caused by worn bores and piston ring grooves.keep rpm down and this motor will last forever

2002 vw jetta tdi - problem with rpm gauge?

Hi, Did you notice the motor actually reving higher when the tachometer was reading a higher rpm.. If it was it could be your transmission slipping.. Set your cruise control and listen to your motor while the tachometer starts moving erratically.. Good Luck
