2000 VW golf horn won't work, fuse is good , relay 53 is good but changed it anyway. No voltage reading at horns. Tested horn off car and it is fine

Did you check the power to the relay? and then the signal wire (ground) at the relay to see if it's being signaled? Otherwise you may have a clockspring or module problem not allowing the signal to pass through to the relay.

AC does not work

If it is low on gas the compressor will not engage. You can take one of the fill caps off and stick a pen in a press on the valve is gas escapes with pressure the system has gas. If not the system has to recharged and checked for leaks. You can check to see if the compressor is siezed by trying to turn the outer portion of the pulley by hand, if it turns the compressor is probably OK. (DON'T TRY THIS WITH THE ENGINE RUNNING)

My '97 died while driving and now cranks but won't start

Hai Tina89,

I have a Golf 97 in Malaysia and have the same problem. My engine at one time died while going at 110 km/h and on a few other occation on slower speed. Once it died can't get it started for 1 or 2 hours. My mechanic changed the computer box relay numbered 53 and for years now it never happen again. I'm a visitor here and you can give me feedback at ab_annuar@yahoo.com

Vw golf 1994 indicators

Hi,

Most Golf and Jetta have their relays bunched together with the fuse block. Often, it would be inside the fuse box/compartment located under the facia panel, on the right-hand side, behind a removable cover. On most models, the flasher relay would be labeled 21.

Incidentally, sometime ago, there was a recall on some Golf where Volkswagen dealers will install a new hazard flasher switch/relay kit to remedy a common issue. You may want to try first Volkswagen at 1-800-822-8987.

Hope this be of initial help/idea. Pls post back how things turned up or should you need additional information.

Good luck and kind regards.

Thank you for using FixYa.
