How to replace rear axel wheel bearings on 97 ford explored


You will need an internal bearing puller. You will have to remove the rear axle by pulling off the differential cover. Then remove the bolt holding the spider gear cross shaft in place. Remove the shaft and spider gears. If your tire is already removed and brake drum is off, push in the axle and remove the circle clip. Once this is out you can slide your axle out you can remove the backing plate for your brakes and get to the bearing. Pull the seal out and pull out the bearing with a puller and slide hammer. Install the new bearing by hitting on the outside race ONLY. Install a new seal and install in reverse order.

CHRYSLER WARNED AGAINST NOT USING A SLIDE HAMMER PULLER UNLESS YOU ARE GOING TO REPLACE REAR HUB AND BEARING ASSEMBLY.WHEN REPLACING HUB AND BEARING ASSEMBLY THEY HAS TO BE PRESSED OUT.

How to Replace rear wheel bearing


first remothe the diff cover and drain, find the bolt that retains diff gears and remove then remove pin holding the diff gears, at this point do not rotate any part at all, axle or crown, push axle inward and remove c clip holdin axle in, pull axle out and using a bearing puller remove bearing, lubricate new bearing and install using new seal, examine axle for damage to bearing contact surface is good install , reverse procedure to finnish and fill rear end with new oil

you take off the bolt and you have to get a gear puller to pull the hub off with equal pressure they like 10 bucks

How do I replace the front wheel bearings on a


remove cv outer nut, tire brake caliper and lower ball joint use a bar to pry against lower a frame to seperate ball joint slip out cv axel then remove four nuts securing wheel bearing. I would have to check at home for exact instructions.

I have a 454 Chevrolet, the pilot bearing won't budge with my slide puller, any help would be great.


Have you tried BP blast liquid
Let it soak....

If you have, your next step I would buy a Pilot bearing puller not a slide puller which has only one hook,
The Pilot bearing puller has two hook.
I had a poblem like this before, I had to buy that tool, & it nock it out the park....

How do i get the front wheel bearing off?


did you take out all the bolts holding the bearing assembly to the spindle,if so soak the area where the bearing passes thru the spindle with SEAFOAM, CRC,or some type of penetrating solvent.these are very often hard to remove. if you need more help get back to me and we'll go from there

How to replace front rotors


You'll need to take the wheel bearings off. the rotors are bolted to the hub and the bolts are located in the back of the hub thus having to remove the wheel bearings and removed the hub/rotor assy.
