1 st you need to know what code 3 actually is implying Midas or even auto zone will tell you ..but try resetting the obc by removing the positive terminal on the battery for a few minutes then reconnecting it to see it reset itself many cases this will fix the issue unless there is in-depth problems

I have periodic issues with acceleration past 40mph. Code p0720 suggests to replace speed sensor. Anyone have an issue similar and if so did repair suggested above resolve issues?

code p 0720 refers to output shaft speed (OSS) sensor---circuit malfunction=== causes ---wiring--OSS sensor ---ECM/ TCM
intermittent problems can be from wiring and connections ( loose corroded, water etc)
as the code suggests it could be from the TCM as well and again check the wires and connections
as the problem is periodic that suggest wires and connections ( excessive resistance or loose pins )
the sensor at fault is the shaft speed sensor and not the vehicle speed sensor (VSS) so make sure you get the correct sensor to fix

I have a 1998 dodge caravan 3.3L fault codes p0500 p0700 p0720 p0715, how do I repair and replace sensors to pass smog test

Follow the links for each fault code.
http://www.obd-codes.com/p0500
P0700 Transmission Control System Malfunction
P0720 Output Speed Sensor Circuit Malfunction
P0715 sets when there is an error in the transmission's input speed sensor signal. On the front of the trans there is an input and output speed sensor that the trans controller looks at for shifting control.

While the code could have set because of a wiring or connection problem, it's almost surely the sensor. Input speed sensor failures are not uncommon.

The input speed sensor is mounted right on the front of the trans directly under where the cooler lines attach. It threads directly in and has a 1" hex for a socket for removal. If the wiring and connection look visibly ok then I would recommend replacing the sensor

Using Google-- is how you look up OBD Codes

Problems & some solutions

Type:OBD PO102

Codes DO NOT mean you replace parts

They have nothing to do with parts
UNTIL the vehicle is properly diagnosed
& a PROBLEM IS FOUND

2001 kia optima v6 with fault codes p0720, u3600, and p1529 what do they mean?

I just know P0720 and P1529, the P0720 means "Output Speed Sensor Circuit" and the P1529 mean SCAIR Sloenoid Circuit Malfunction.

The Maxivideo MV301 tool 8.5MM is a new release code scanner.

Luck off power trasmission safe mode cames on code p0720

p0720 is usually a speed sensor. Newer BMWs have a speed sensor at each wheel, which also sends information to your traction control. If one of the sensors is giving a wrong reading, the vehicle thinks you are losing traction and it cuts power.
If you need further assistance, please let me know. I will need your vehicle year and model.
