Tranny not shifting into overdrive properly, try having the filter changed and the tranny flushed this should help.

Pathfinder "cuts out" at 2,300 rpm

Replace your MAF, its a little pricey around $280.00 or so but this will clear the code but make sure you have the ECM reprogrammed to perform a "learning" sequence since sometimes the code will not clear even though the vehicle will run like new. This reprogramming will most likely have to be a dealer performed procedure.

Rpm does not reach 4000 rpm

Neutral or Drive N rev limiter to prevent engine damage from no load over acceleration. D: many things could be at fault. Has your fuel filter been changed in the last 30,000miles. What about a tune up? Is your CEL(Check Engine Light) on? If so have a parts store check for codes, some do it for free. Then get back to us and we can go from there.

2003 Chevy Impala when going uphill transmission doesn't shift when giving gas. You have to let off gas for car to shift.

Start with the simple and check your transmission fluid and then check your TPS (throttle position sensor) Check TPS for smooth and linear electrical response over the entire range of motion. If not, replace.
Thank you for using fixya and good luck

Loss of power on acceleration. Put new fuel

Probably the ignition timing is not advancing the spark on acceleration or high rpm's.

That is the job of the ECM (Electronic Control Module). Check it / Replace it.

Hope this helps!

My 2003 chevy impala isn't shifting properly

It is possible that it is a cat problem, or o2 sensors. Though your car's engine light should be coming on if that's the case. How reliable are your mechanics? If you didnt have any problems before the car went in. Then most likely they installed or reinstalled something incorrectly. Also how many miles are on the vehicle?
Thanks,
Lee
