Question about 1992 Honda Accord

Open Question

I have a 92 Honda Accord LX, I recently resoldered the Master Relay, this fixed a problem of starting in the heat of the day. After a few days when starting it sounded like the battery was dying but still started, now it sounds like the battery is really weak and will not start the dash lihts go out and when I remove the key, the four ways begin to flash as well as the "anti-theft light" I can jump of the car and it will run just fine but no matter how long it has been running once I shut it off it will not restart without a jump. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

before you get drawn into overcomplicating the problem, charge the battery and have it load tested.

92 honda accord lx it will start when it is cool outside but when it is hot it will not start. have already replaced distributor, coil, main engine relay switch. Can u tell me what else it could be ?...

I had the same issue happening with my 92 accord lx. I replaced the main relay and the issue was resolved... Was it the relay under the dash and hidden by the cruise control box you replaced? It is located under the drivers side dash, tucked WAY up there behind the cruise control box. This relay controls both the spark delivery AND the fuel pump.

If this IS what you replaced, it is more than likely still an electrical issue since the syptom only occurs when it is hot. This means an electrical connection is expanding and not connecting when it is hot. If the relay was replaced, it is possible the ECU may be having issues.

Problem starting. On a hot day, will not start.

A very common problem. You need to replace the "PGMFI" or "main" relay. It's up under the dash on the drivers side. It will have "Mitsuba" written on the side of it. I you are handy with a soldering iron, you can pop the cover off and resolder the terminals of the two relays inside the box.. For a ton of info on this, just google: "honda main relay"
