Spray some solvent into the wheel lug holes so it runs down between the wheel and mount flange. If you have it supported on a real floor jack, you can give the tire a really hard shot with a heavy pipe etc, if supported by a standard jack, do not try this or it will fall. In extreme cases, you can put the lugs back on about half way and lower the car back to the ground, then start it and turn the steering wheel (if tire is at front) if in rear, drive it slowly forward and make a few sharp turns or circles in opposite directions. (low speed only!!! generally that will force it to fall off (but lugs will keep it on enough as not to do damage) After you get it off, make sure you clean rust from hub so it does not happen again.

How do I change a tire on 2010 Routan?

place the hand brake on firmly--chock other wheels . loosen off the wheel nuts . jack the vehicle up finish removing the wheel nuts . pull the wheel of the studs . fit replacement spare wheel onto studs . do wheel nuts up as tight as possible . lower jack so that the wheel is on the ground . finish tightening the wheel nuts . Replace the jack and wrench in the boot along with the flat tyre . Take the flat tyre to a tyre shop for a puncture repair and have it fixed immediately. Most "people" leave the repair to a later time when they will need a spare that they do not have .The tyre change process is fully described in the owners hand book for your vehicle.

How to change tire

Apply the hand brake tight. loosen the wheel nuts while the vehicle is on the ground . Place the jack in the position as described on the sticker near where the jack is housed. Raise the side of the car until the wheel is just free of the ground . Remove the wheel nuts and lift the wheel free of the hub. Fit spare and replace the nuts. Do them up as tight as you can. Lower the jack until the wheel is firmly on the ground . Now tighten the nuts fully. Put the jack back in the vehicle and you are finished.. There are motoring clubs everywhere that run courses catering especially for women so that they can learn how to do it properly. My wife carries a piece of pipe that fits over the nut brace to give her the necessary leverage to un-do and do up the wheel nuts as they are normally very tight.

What are you trying to remove the spare tire from? Is it mounted on the axle? If you removed the lug nuts and it seems like its glued to the rotor, put the lug nuts back in about 3/4 of the way, then lower the jack to put come pressure on the wheel, roll back and forth a bit if needed and your wheels will likely break free. Sometimes corrosion makes the wheel stick. Good luck!

I cant get the spare tire to come down the cable came down but the wheel comes down a 1/4 in it just wont budge

This is probably a nice new spare with a thick tread that's just a little tight in the recess it fits in.

Messy but effective solution: Slide your legs under the car and put your foot on the inside of the wheel, give a good hard shove to compress the tyre a little at the front of the recess and it will probably have enough room to then drop neatly out of the rear of the recess (Onto your legs! so be careful!)

Steps to rear brake replacment

  1. Park the Dodge on a flat, level surface and engage the parking brake. Put two wedges of wood in front of your front wheels and two behind them.
  2. Put the jack under the back frame of the car and lift it up until the wheels are off the ground. Slide the two jack stands underneath the car right under the axles, one next to each wheel. Use the jack to lower the car onto the two jack stands.
  3. Loosen the lug nuts with the lug nut wrench, and remove the lug nuts and the two back wheels.
  4. Look for two bolts that are attached to the caliper. Remove them with the adjustable wrench. Lift up the caliper and set it on the axle, taking care not to let it fall and break.
  5. Compress the brake pads which, in turn, will compress the underlying piston. If they won't budge, use a C-clamp to compress them.
  6. Open the spring clips by prying with a screwdriver and take off the pads. And if the pads are stuck you can pry them off with the screwdriver as well.
  7. Rub a little bit of silicone grease onto the back of each new pad and put the pads in the correct position. Put the spring clips back in place to hold the pads in place.
  8. Put the caliper back in place and tighten the bolts.
  9. Reinstall the wheel and tighten the lug nuts. Lift up the car a little with the jack and remove the jack stands. Lower the Dodge all the way to the ground. Retighten the lug nuts.
  10. Lift up the hood and look for the master cylinder's brake fluid container on the driver's side of the car, closest to the driver. Top off the brake fluid, if needed.
You will need the following
  • 4 wood wedges
  • Lug wrench
  • Floor jack
  • 2 jack stands
  • Adjustable wrench
  • C-clamp (optional)
  • Flathead screwdriver
  • New brake pads
  • Silicone grease

Need help getting the axle nut off of 2004 kia sorento nut won't budge

make sure you have a good brand breaker bar(lifetime warranty best), the proper sized socket(impact type), and either an old bumper jack that fits over the breaker bar or a 5 to 6 foot fence post. leave the whole vehicle on the ground, if you cant reach nut with wheel on, then have a helper stomp on the brakes firmly while you put breaker bar at nine oclock, slip jack or post over breaker bar and firmly add your weight and a friends to the end of bar pushing down until SOMETHING gives, hopefully its the nut. :)
