- Hi hotchevy1965
I replaced the engine oil yesterday using the method you described. I now want to replace the gear box oil, I'm I correct that you have indicated I should use the same method?
Do you know where I can find the gearbox oil resevoir on a Peugeot 806?
Cheers

MOST MANUAL TRANSMISSION BEFORE CHANGING FLUID YOU DRIVE CAR AROUND.TO WARM THE OIL.SO IT WILL DRAIN OUT EASILY.NOW SAFELY RAISE VECHICLE AND SUPPORT IT ON JACK STANDS.LOCATE DRAIN PLUG ON DIFFERENTIAL PORTION OF THE CASE.GET SOME RAGS ON HAND.AND A DRAIN PAN.PLACE THE DRAIN PAN UNDER TRANSMISSION. REMOVE THE DRAIN PLUG.LET THE OIL DRAIN.WHEN FINISH.PUT IN NEW GEARBOX OIL.

- FILLER PLUG SHOULD BE ON THE SIDE OF DIFFERENTIAL.WHEN YOU PUT OIL BACK IN.OIL LEVEL SHOULD NOT GO ABOVE OIL PLUG FILLER HOLE. USE YOUR FINGER WHEN CHECKING OIL LEVEL IN GEAR BOX.

I have just put in new CV Axles, brake rotors, and brake pads, everything was going smooth for awhile untill maybe a week later then I started to hear a loud squeaking sound coming from the tire area on my passengers side. The sound doesn't start when I hit the brakes. I can hear it ands its loud when I am gradually slowing down or speeding up. When I am going over 25 mph I can't really hear it anymore but thats only because when the tires are rotating faster the sound does as well. Anyone have a clue what this sound may be? My guy friends did the brake rotors, brake pads, and CV Axle on the passenger side, I did it on the drivers side which there seems to be no problem where I worked.
