Question about Chevrolet TrailBlazer

1 Answer

The keyless entry does not work at all. When I unlock the car manually, the rear hatch won't unlock. The rear wiper doesn't work either. All happen at the same time.

If you get within range of the car when it would normally unlock itself with the remote, Hold down the lock and unlock button on the remote at the same time for ten seconds and you should hear the lock click and it should be working from then on.

Most remotes can be programmed manually at home without any tools or technical skills.
If you need to just order the instructions please check website at
http://www.carandtruckremotes.com/pr...tructions.html

If your car responds to programming instructions but the remote does not respond, it is most likely one of the following reasons
1. The battery may be dead.
2. Try the instructions again - sometimes it takes more then one try
3. If it still does not work, the remote might be broken or you have a wrong remote.
If your car DOES NOT respond to programming
1. It may not be equipped with keyless entry system - please check with your local dealer
2. There might be a problem with your RKE module please check with your local dealer
3. You may have the wrong set of programming instructions please check with your local dealer

The liftgate module is where the receiver is for the factory keyless remote. It may need to be programmed .
The LGM also controls the rear wiper motor. Check is it connected and if the fuses for LGM(30A & 10A) is fine.

The rear washer fluid pump is on the reservoir tank up front, so that's not involved in the LGM.

You may have simply lost a fuse. Check #3 and #19 in the rear fuse block. Or the wires at the hinge area might have flexed and gone bad.

Not sure about your car, but on my Chrysler mini van the same problem happened. The problem was not the motor but the body control module. The unit had 2 relays, but the BCM actualy controls the unit. To replace the BCM was $450. I bypassed the problem by installing an on/off switch inside the car and activated the motor by by passing the BCM at the relay. That was 3 years ago, still works great. Your BCM may be the problem. Check the schematics of the relays and try doing the same.

Why will rear hatch not unlock?

I assume you are using a keyless entry, in which case - you need to replace the sensor for the rear hatch

You could have a bad Lift Gate Module (LGM) or a broken wire in the wire harness going thru the rubber boot between the body and the lift gate.
But first check fuse #19 in the rear fuse panel.

Look at your maintenance manual. To find where your fuse box is located(may be under the hood or under the steering wheel). When you find the fuse box look on the back of the panel flap and you'll find a fuse map. Locate the fuse that corresponds with your problem. It could be the same fuse but not likely. If fuse is blown then replace it with a spare. Most manufacturers will put spare fuses in the box or you could pull a fuse from some where else just to try and see if the problem is still there( make sure it's the same size and understand that it could blow this fuse as well then you will need 2 fuses). Most of the time fuses don't just blow. For some reason it pulled to much load. Probably a dead short in the wiring. I hope this helps.

As far as the hatch and the wiper in the rear: 1 common problem is the wiring at the top at the hatch. Due to the poor wiring layout here, this flexes quite a bit with opening and closing the hatch. These wires will tend to rub against the metal and short out. Check this out first, it's a cheap fix.
