Is the fuse for the brake lights OK?
Check for power to the brake light switch at the brake pedal and for power coming from it with brake pedal depressed.

The brake light switch will be mounted above the brake pedal pad up behind the dash.It is turned off and on by the brake pedal.
Look for wires going to a switch in this area. Some of the wires should have power in them with the brake pedal untouched and others should have power with the pedal depressed.

I am probably too late for this one, I had previously posted a fix for this problem. But here we go again. If you have checked the fuses, brake switch and you are still having the problem, the you will need to replace what is called the multy function switch it is the same one that you turn your healights on and offm high beam and turn signal. Good luck

1995 mazda 626,front left turn signal doesn't work (blinks rapidly on dash)Only when the headlights are on, 4 way emergency flashers work fine. Bulbs ok. changed flasher it's ok. ???

I hear what you are saying however....whenever there is a bulb that is not will get rapid flashing on the dash. Replacing the bulb is it as a test if nothing else.

disconnect turn signal switch wires @ column, put power to wires to brake lights. that cks wiring to lights. next put power to wires through turn signal to ck switch. Power runs from brake light switch to turnsignal switch, to lights.

On 92 Mazda mx3 running lights in don't work but

check if power getting to bulbs, if is then the bulb holders may well be distorted due to heat and are not allowing bulbs to seat properly so renew the bulb holders , if no power to the bulb holders and the fuse is ok then its either a wiring fault , check the earth wire from the light cluster if ok them must be the switch

My left brake light/turn signal isn't working! I replaced the bulbs and turn signal flasher! Still not working! Its 2000 Chevy s10 blazer

If the other brake and turn lights are working the brake light and flasher units are ok . With a test light check at the bulb holder terminal and bulb holder body, test light should glow ,if not check from terminal to a metal part of panel away from the light body . If test light now glows the brake light body has a bad earth if the test still not glowing the power cable to the light is broken.

Im replacing a tail light circuit board on both rear lights, is their any special way to do this

just check accurately bulbs if you mixed it could happen like that, some cars for the brake lights use two contact bulbs some of them single contact, two contact bulbs can give two signals which one is used for brake ligths and another for taillight, so check the bulbs carefully

97 cad turn signal lift side and brake not working **** right is working

The problem could be in one fuse, bad ligth bulb, bad combination switch wich is the turn signal lever siwtch, or the combination of all this. Is the front left turn signal working, in order to find out if the turn signal switch is working check for power at the the cable in the corredpondent connector that way you eliminate the posibilty of the turn signal sitch if you have power at the connector also do the same at the stop ligth if there is no power you have problaby bad fuse, hope this help tou out.

First check for blown fuse. If Ok check bulb, If ok use test light (computer safe led type)
Get someone to put on brake and earth test light lead to bold on vehicle and hold test light probe in centre of bulb holder. It should light up.
If not move earth lead to another bolt on vehcile and retest.
If light comes on in test light the bulb is broken.
If no light in test light the brake light switch connected to the brake pedal is broken. replace brake light switch.

My reae left tail ligth won'r turn on? the rigth

Check the fuse in the fusebox inside for a blown fuse, the brake lights are working so check the plug going onto the back of the lamp for tightness, could be a loose connection.

My Brake lights don't work

2004 Rx8 kept blowing 15amp brake light fuse. Solution: wire going to rear lights was worn and frayed where it feeds through the left trunk lip on left side of trunk. This can be seen when you open the trunk lid. The wire routes by the trunk lid hinge. If the support connectors come loose, the wires are crunched by the hinge or lid. Re-splice, insulate, zip-tie, replace fuse and replace any blown bulbs.

Brake light on every time.

Check the foot pedal switch first to see if is working correctly and not stuck, and that the pedal actually disconnects when returned.

If this is ok, you will have to trace the live feed back to the source, starting at the bulb, and working back.

Are you certain it is the brake light, and not a rear side light? These can be left on when the ignition is off, wheras brake lights usually can't
