If the key does not turn at all in the ignition tumbler then your going to need to drill a hole in the side of the steering lock in order to manually release the steering lock and remove it complete with the ignition tumbler attached. If you get a new steering lock you can examine it to see exactly where to drill the hole and how to manually release it. If the key does turn at least to position 1 then all you need is the removal pins that slide into the small holes around the face of the tumbler. If there are no holes then once the key is in position 1 all you have to do is turn the tumbler housing to the left until is unscrews. Let me know if you need any further assistance on the removal if the key is stuck.
InstructionsOpen the rear deck lid on the Mazda 6.Carefully remove the plastic finishing cover from the license plate light housing, using a small flat-head screwdriver to release the locking tabs. Pull the cover downward and off of the deck lid, exposing the license plate bulb. Remove the old light bulb from the license plate bulb socket by hand. Wrap your new one in a paper towel and do not touch the bulb with your bare fingers. Insert the new bulb into the light socket. Install the finishing cover onto the light housing and push it upward until it clicks and locks into place.Repeat Steps 2 and 3 to complete the LED light conversion on the opposite side of the deck lid. Test the new bulbs by turning on the headlights on the Mazda 6. Mercedes Parts.
I have a 2003 Deville and both of my license plate bulbs were out. Chances are its not a fuse and you will probably NOT find ghe replacement at a autoparts store. The book used that offers the 'replacement numbers' states a 'PC195' which no one carried because the replacement not only requires you to replace the actual bulb, but the setting as well (actual bulb socket-which is nothing more then a blue plastic piece where the bulb actually seats). Its a horrible design. To replace the bulb you need to gently remove the entire light assembly from each side above the plate. You may have to actually take your license plate off to do this. Once you remove the entire assemble there will be a retainer clip with a harness running into the assembly, just unclip the 2 wire harness - repeat for the other side. CHANCES ARE WHEN YOU GO TO REMOVE THE BULB YOU'LL TAKE IT OUT IN PIECES as it will break up in your hand. The part you just removed you will see a blue dime size fitting that is required for ghe bulb to work - when you get your replacement (most likely from a Cadillac Or GM dealer) you will get the new bulb seating in the connector. The AC DELCO part number is 25085970 and you'll pay about $11 each. Be careful when removing the old bulb and handling as there are 2 metal pieces laid into the assembly and if they pop out you'll be looking for more parts Any questions send me a email: carjockey71@gmail, dont forget DO NOT TOUCH THE NEW BULB and use a little of the common bulb grease. The number on the actual bulb assembly is PC168 as read off the needed 'socket'. Installation is the reverse of removal. Best of luck, Paul.
YOU HAVE TO OPEN THE TRUNK LID REMOVE THE BLACK PLASTIC COVER FOR THE TRUNK LID LATCH.REMOVE THE LICENSE PLATE LIGHT HOUSING FROM THE TRUNK LID.REMOVE THE BULB SOCKET FROM THE LICENSE PLATE LIGHT HOUSING.TO REMOVE BULB FROM THE SOCKET SIMPLY PULL IT STRAIGHT OUT OF THE SOCKET.
all you have to do is pull at this point. sometimes they get a little "stuck" in there so move up and down until the bulb comes loose. be sure not to touch the new bulb with bare fingers. if you can, get latex gloves to do this. simply install the new one reversing all the steps you already told me. cheers
check your main harness wire. The harness wire becomes brittle and will eventually short circuit your car. Stalling and hard starting is the initial symptom. If not replaced soon, your car will smoke and eventually affect your computer box
