My car was acting sluggish. Like it was running out of gas'

My check engine light has been on for a few days. Another yellow light on the left side of the dash came on for awhile and later went off.
The feeling like the car was running out of gas happened several times.

This could be a large number of things, but sounds like possibly a fuel delivery problem (check your fuel filters), a clogged exaust system (check your catalytic converter), dirty injectors, or spark plugs in need of replacing. There is other things that could also be the problem, however the above are the most likely culprits.

Before I went through all the work of checking and replacing that stuff, I would stop by your local Autozone and ask them to put an OBD-II scanner on your car to tell you what the CEL (Check Engine Light) code is. Post-1996ish cars are pretty good about telling you what is wrong.

A sensor is no good,or the catalytic converter plugged.
a computer scan will tell a code and what triggered it.
if it is the airflow meter,it will lean out the engine until it barely runs.
a coolant temp sensor can do the same .

Car turns over but won't start acts like it is out of gas, a few days ago the check engine light came on for a day and half , it was kind of sluggish and i stomped on the gas pedal going down the road...

If the check engine light was still on before the car wouldn't start then I would try to borrow an actron code reader from someone who has one, or see if you can rent one from autozone/advance auto, or buy the $35 pocket code reader ( they are so useful for diagnosing problems). This will give you the direction you need to go in. Spark issue, gas issue, or timing issue, etc..... If you get the code feel free to email and I can let you know what to do to remedy the problem. Good luck.

My 94 Sunbird LE Coupe was running fine no problems on a trip and home. The other day the check engine light came on for a short time then went out. Yesterday as I was driving it it was sluggish, dogg

Check for an intake manifold leak. Other possible causes are too many to list. Also check for a vacuum hose being loose or leaking Good luck.

99 Astro Van random misfires P300

Before you replace the injectors have them do an injector balance test. Normally wet weather does not effect fuel system. Sounds more like you have a crank or cam sensor acting up.

Acts likes its not getting gas running sluggish and its eating gas ! oh it a bonaville 2001

is the service engine soon light on? check the air intake system an the intake manifold for vacuum leaks. also you may want to check the fuel pressure and volume to make sure it is getting enough fuel. a clogged fuel filter is a easy fix and an overlooked maintenance item that will cause the symptoms you are having.

Took a minute to start sounded sluggish and ran sluggish. could it be bad gas.or do i need a new fuel has 72,000 miles on it

Could be the fuel pump. Could be the fuel filter too. When is the last time you had a tune up? Bad plugs can really work a car hard. When you are at a stop sign or a stop light and your foot is on the brake does the car act like it wants to **** on you? This is a another sign of your plugs needing to be changed. Should this be the case I would recommend a full tune up. Should your check engine light be on then I would suggest you go to Auto zone to get a free scan performed and have the codes read. If no check engine light is on then it is most likely not a sensor issue.

94 Camry was running fine, suddenly became sluggish

How did you try to obtain the codes? Did you short pins E1 and Te1 in the grey connector under the hood?

When the light comes back on, short the above pins, and get back to us.

Without seeing the codes, I would venbture a guess that you first consider a good tune-up, and use Toyota plugs only. Any other manufacturer will not work very well. I see this every day, new plugs, and the engine runs poor. Toyota plugs fixes it right up. The heat ranges are diffferent in Toyota plugs.

Car drives sluggish in drive.

There are quite a few things that will cause the car to drive "sluggish," so I won't try to tell you all of them without a more specific indication of the problem (does sluggish refer to way the engine runs or the way the car handles, for example), but:
Looking at the car from the front, the dip stick for the transaxle is down very low at the left hand side of the engine, close to being under the battery. It is normally yellow. Follow the large water hose that runs down next to your battery. The yellow dip stick handle is right along side of that hose (to the right of it) down low. It will either pull out or unscrew.
Ordinarily, if the transmission has a problem, your D4 light will start flashing. There is a way to read the codes, given the number of flashes and whether they are long or short, but it's involved. If your D4 starts flashing (beyond just coming on when you put it in gear) you probably should have it checked.
Usually, the way an engine runs has more to do with fuel/air mix or ignition than it does with the transmission. Have you, for example, changed your air filter recently? Your plugs? But there are many other things, as I said.
Hope this helps.

Losing gas mileage, left bank running lean

There are 3 oxygen sensors on your van. Left bank would be the front left. Try replacing it and see if that helps but remember to reset the computer. Where I work the sensor costs a little over $100.00.
