Can I bleed the rear brake on my Saturn SL2 myself or do I have to take it to a mechanic like the Haynes manual says?

you will need a helper to pump the pedal do it with the engine off have them pump the pedal hold it down and then open the bleeder do the several times til all the air is pushed out make sure not to let the reservoir go empty if it does you will need to bleed all 4 wheels

How to bleed the clutch on a saturn 97

one way to bleed it is by pulling the piston like slave cylinder with the rod out of the transmission and by pushing the rod into the slave cylinder several times, make sure you have plenty of dot3 brake fluid in the clutch master slave before you do this. by pushing the rod into the slave cylinder it acts like doing a brake job it bleeds the air out into the clutch master slave cylinder and sucks in the break fluid getting rid of all air in the system. thats the only way to bleed those systems seeing as they are sealed systems

92 mazda miata new clutch new clutch master cylinder systems been bled several times clutch will work 4 awhile park car then try again and clutch quits working again, while driving clutch works fine 4...

Sounds like the seal in the new clutch master cylinder. I've seen that same problem in the hand brake system in small 2 and 4 seat airplanes. ( I'm and aircraft mechanic) The problem is not air in the lines so bleeding won't help. The piston seal is intermittantly failing to seal. That is whty the function can return without any apparent reason as the seal has seated itself. The only cure is to replace or rebuild the master cylinder. ( Yes, even new or rebuilt ones can have a defective or improperly installed piston seal)

Hope this helps

find the low pressure switch on the accumulator, if you jump the terminals, the refrigerent level is too low to turn the clutch on.

Im not sure this is the problem with my car but i have a 97 saturn sl2.. i just replaced the clutchtransmission and a few other things.. The car ran fine after i found out how to gravity bleed the clutch.....

Sounds like it could be the master and slave hydraulic cylinders that control the clutch. If thats not it, it could be the cluch saftey switch is defective, it's located behind the cluch pedal in the interior. you can unplug it and bypass it and if your car starts without the clutch engaged then thats the problem

Need to know how to bleed it

There would be a bleed nipple on it. It would be located near the bellhousing.
Open nipple a little let fluod seep out until no bubbles in it. Make sure you top the fluid up and dont let it empty.
