Question about 2004 Ford Explorer

2004 Ford Explorer V6 idles rough but runs fine when accelerating

I have 71k miles on my '04 explorer. I put gas from Costco in it and it started to idle rough shortly after out of the blue. I thought maybe there was water in the gas so I added Heet to the tank and it didn't help. I ran a few more tanks of gas through it (the best I have in my area) and it didn't change much so I added Fuel Injector cleaner to the tank. It fixed the problem until that tank of treated gas got below 1/2 full and it started back again. The car runs ok otherwise and I don't notice any real change in acceleration. My next step is to try the fuel filter or clean the throttle body. Any help would be great. I'd like to get it fixed before I go on Deployment.

Why is my truck idling rough but doesnt do it all the time

check throttle cable. A bad throttle cable will cause it accelerate
& decelerate. Check for worn out cable and replace it.

The gas got lower than normal and it idles rough after fill up

You may have damaged the fuel pump or picked up some dirt from the bottom of the tank.

My 1998 Ford Explorer runs rough under hard acceleration

New plugs and wires?

Double check to make sure that you've got the routing and firing order right... if you have 2 switched, the car may still idle well but then pop and sputter on harder acceleration.

The next step would be to run some "Complete Fuel System Cleaner"... If that's the problem, you should see results within 20 miles or so.

My 2004 Explorer will not accelerate, only idles. Disconnected the battery to clean the terminals. Charged the battery on 6amps High for two hours. Started fine but will not accelerate from idle.

verify the gas pedal cable is connected out at the throttle body, you will need to remove the plastic cover that covers the linkage on the throttle body.
