Question about 1998 Toyota Corolla
This morning, after no previous problems, the car will not start. The battery seems ok as lights are showing. There is the sound of something moving quite fast but the engine is not being turned - perhaps because the starter is not engaging? Any suggestions would be welcome. Thank you.
SOUND LIKE STARTER COULD HAVE LOOSE BOLTS OR MISSING A BOLT.THE STARTER PINION IS STICKING.IF BOLTS IS TIGHT NOT MISSING.REMOVE STARTER TAKE IT TO AUTO ZONE OR ADVANCE AUTO.THEY WILL CHECK IT OUT FOR FREE.ALSO TURN OFF RADIO BEFORE REMOVING NEGATIVE BATTERY CABLE.SO YOU WONT LOSE RADIO CODE.

Testimonial: "Started with jump leads. Apparently the battery had enough power to turn the starter but not enough to turn the engine, hence the clacking sound. Thx"
