Question about Toyota 4Runner

I have a 1990 Hilux Surf SSR Limmited Turbo Diesel and I am getting Motor Oil into my Cooling System, I have been told that it may be coming from my Oil Cooler if it has one, but I don't know where to locate the Oil Cooler as it is not in the normal spot, infront of the Radiator, it is not the head as I have replaced the head if it is not the Oil Cooler could you please explain to me if there are any other things in the motor that has something to do with the Problem.

I have checked for oil lines leading to the Radiator and there are none, there is although two oil lines coming from the block one to what looks like a pump that is attached to the front of the Altinator and the other is leading to the bottom of the turbo, these two lines are are close together at the block, the line that is leading to the bottom of the turbo looks like a water line.

Normally oil in the coolant would mean problem with the oil gasket. Either a hole or it has deteriorated. If you have eliminated the head gasket as the source of the problem, a good way to check if you have an oil cooler. To check , normally a line is run from the oil pan or near that vicinity or near the oil filter to the radiator or a separate radiator. Chances are, yours is routed to the radiator. Check first the lines that go to the existing radiator. You should have at least two more that go to it. Oil would have a higher pressure than your coolant which may increase the chances of oil to your coolant. If that checks out OK you may have cracks or holes where the coolant passes in your engine block.

You have a major task in front of you .The wiring and computer are not the same. get the computer and wiring loom from the donor engine vehicle. You will have to rework the exhaust system ,cooling system, transmission and drive shaft, rework the front suspension springs because of extra weight. Do check with the main roads department or other body as they may refuse to register or insure it.

have injectors or glow plugs removed and crank engine if water cones out. your engine might have experienced overheating and you have a blown gasket or a cracked cylinder and allows water into one or more cylinders.

(TOYOTA SURF 1990 TURBO DIESEL) No diesel coming out of fuel pump

If it has glow plugs or an intake heater you will need to disable the circuit. Then you can use a small amount of ether to spray into the air cleaner.!!! If you spray too much and/or Dont disable the circuits you can damage the motor!!! When you spray the ether, if the engine starts and stalls then its not getting fuel. This could be related to the fuel pump, injection pump, the fuel system loosing its prime(fuel line leak), fuel shut-off valve or solenoid. If it doesn't start then it could be related to your timing, valves or maybe compression.

(TOYOTA SURF 1990 TURBO DIESEL) No diesel coming out of fuel pump

Fill your fuel filter all the way up and take precaution not to get any air into pump. Try this several times. Once you get air into some pumps it can be very hard to bleed it off. There should be some way to bleed. Look on pump for bleeder.

It's a 1990 Toyota HiluX surf. Can't start it, yet the day before running fine.

a glo plug is basically a heating element that heats up the cylinders to allow for easy starting of a diesel engine. there should be one per cylinder. if it is a diesel, you could have an air bubble in the fuel system, which will cause it not to start. You would need to take it to a shop to bleed the fuel system.
