I believe it is an electric power steering system & its built into the steering column if less then 50000 miles I would go back to dealer & complain and get gm assistance if you are having problems very pricey to fix

I can't figure out where to put power steering fluid in my 2004 chevrolet malibu

the 2004 malibu does not have a place to put transmission fluid it has a electric power steering system and does not use fluid, if you are having a problem with the power steering light chimming and lighting up this is under a recall that chevy has obligated to fix. So if your car is doing this take it to your local chevy dealership and have them to repair it for you. Hope this helps.

Where does the power steering fluid go??

follow your serpentine belt, the belt rotates the pump...and it should say on the cap use only power steering fluid on the cap. the cap will have measuring marks to go by to tell you how much to add eg: "add" "c" cold, "w" warm do not over fill.
