THERE ARE A FEW SCREWS THAT NEED TO BE REMOVED INCLUDING 2 ARMREST AND ONE ON THE INSIDE DOOR HANDLE. AFTER THOSE ARE REMOVED. THEN THERE MAY BE TWO ADDITIONAL ONES BEHIND THE HANDLE TRIM. IF YOU HAVE A CRANK WINDOW, THEN YOU WILL NEED TO RELEASE THE C-CLIP THAT HOLDS IT ON WITH A SMALL PICK OR WINDOW TOOL. AFTER THAT CHECK AROUND THE BOTTOM OF THE PANEL TO SEE IF THERE ARE ANY OTHERS. CHECK THE FRONT TRIANGULAR PLASTIC TRIM WHICH PRYS OFF WITH A FLAT SCREWDRIVER. THEN PRY THE BOTTOM OF THE PANEL AWAY FROM THE DOOR AND LIFT SLIGHTLY. THANKS FOR USING FIX-YA. PLEASE KEEP ME POSTED. GOOD LUCK

First remover the trim ring from around the inside door handle by using a flathead screwdriver between the 2 plastic pieces at the top and bottom of the trim ring and it should pop off ,then take the 2 screws out of the arm rest, then pop the plastic piece off by the mirror mount by pullin out on it then just work your way around the panel with the screwdriver and pull the door panel away from the door, there are just plastic clips that hold the panel to the door, after that just unplug the window switches once u have the panel off the door, hope this helps

Hello,,Not sure if its the same but check if there is a cover that goes around the door handle/lock assembly,if so there is a latch on each side under the lip that a small flat screwdriver will take care of,,once thats off you'll find that the door handle/lock assembly is held on with a rivett on the bottom side,,Good luck.

Driver side power window doesnt work . all the others work on a 1999 jeep grand ckerokee

This is the door the get's used constantly and on occasion slammed. Sometimes the connector and/or lead powering the window motor gets jarred loose and needs to be reseated or the motor seizes and needs replacement.
You can purchase a door handle removal tool from any parts store which will allow you to remove the handles. Then remove the trim screws holding the door liner panel and pull the door liner panel off. You may have to reach in with a helper screw driver blade to twist out some to the push in plastic holders. Be careful not to force anything loose or you may have to re-epoxy the special fasteners.
You should now have access to the connectors to the switch. Re-seat them and test for motor function. If no function replace motor. You should be able to locate aftermaket replacements on line or at a good parts store. Dealers may stock them but more than likely will have to be ordered anyway.
Reinstall motor, retaining screws, handles. Pins are a little tricky but a long point needle nose pliers comes in real hand.
Best regards,
TF

Hoo.com need to change a door handle on a 1999 chevy surburban and am having trouble

Inside door handle? unscrew two screws in arm rest, then lift the back of the window switch up and unplug everything, then insert a small screw driver to pop the small taps loose around the outer edges of the door handle trim ring, then lift the door panel straight up. drill the rivet out and slide the handle forward

Interior lights won't go off on 1999 surburban and automatic door locks don't work. Just purchased vehicle, all issues seem to be electrical in nature.

Sounds like a door switch is stuck open. My suggestion would be to pull all of the door switches and use a scrap piece of wire to "fool" the connection closed. Simply unplug the switch, and jumper across the terminals on the connector. If the lights go out, now go back and install each switch one at a time untill you find the one that's stuck open. Replace that one. $50.00 it's the driver's front.

The drivers side window has come loose from the frame - it looks like it runs in a track on the forward part of the door. I can't lower the window - hence it can't pass safety inspection. Any suggestions...

Had this problem with a Mazda years ago. Solved it by removing the door liner and putting the glass back in its track. Door liner usually held in place by combination of screws and clips. If uncertain how to remove liner, ck online or in Sundance repair manual for instructions on removing door liner.

The air bag is bolted in from the back, remove the glove box door and the liner/compartment, I used to get at the motor from there without removing the airbag, it is hard but do-able.
