The return spring inside of the shifter might be weak or broken, or the tab in the shifter gate slot might have worn out or broken. Remove the shifter base and boot and inspect the slot and tab. (the tab rides inside of the slot). An excellent replacement spring can be found at:

Not sure what your asking, but if your vehicle is not coming out of park then you need to get the repair kit at chrysler dealer an remove the center console. The kit comes with a metal piece that slips of the release lever which is plastic and pink in color. What happens is it breaks and the spring comes off, so the new metal piece has an end that the spring attaches too. Slip it over the pink plastic piece and attach the spring from there to the rear of the shifter assemble you'll see where the other end of the spring goes. This will fix your problem. BUT, FIRST, check will the dealer to see if your vehicle is covered under the RECALL for that problem. Hope this helps! Have an awesome day Anthony!

The trim is held in by sprung clips. Pry gently at the edge/corner with a small screwdriver until you can get your fingers behind it. Pull straight out. Here are instructions from autozone.com:

REMOVAL & INSTALLATION

Radio Control Assembly

1. Disconenct the negative battery cable.
2. Remvoe the shift lever knob.
3. Remove the console trim plate.
4. Remvoe the center air duct.
5. Remove the instrument panel accessory trim plate.
6. Unfasten the upper right corner console right hand trim pad-to-carrier screw.

1. Unfasten the bolts/screws securing the radio control assembly. Pull the radio partially for access to the electrical connectors, then unplug the connectors and remove the radio control assembly from the vehicle.

1. Installation is the reverse of the removal procedure.

Usually the regulator is built in to the alternator..........have the amps checked on the alternator the volts are not the only sign of charge

you bolt the leaf spring to the axle first it locates on the bolt head that holds the spring together into a hole in the top of the axle shaft then locate the front spring hanger ,then the swinging rear hanger

1. Disconnect Battery
2.Remove steering wheel 1 Clip then a size 13/16th Socket Clocked USE STEERING WHEEL PULLER FOR STEERING WHEEL 3. Use Steering Wheel LOCK RING Press Tool to remove it and its HOLD DOWN CLIP Horn Button & Spring will Come with it
4. Go to Lower Portion if Steering Collun and Disconnect and remove the BLACK Connecter that is Affixed to the Steer Collum
5..Back to the TOP Remove the 3 Screws that Hold the Turn Sygnal Assembly Down
6.Remove the Screw in the Center of the Hazaard Button
7. Remove the 1 Screw Holding Down the Turn Sygnal Lever
8.Now Carfully Pull the Entire Assembly OUT of the Center so as for it to be Out of your Way
9. Look CLOSLY at the Ignition Lock Cylinder Area and Locate Chromed Looking Button
10.. Push this Button While Slightly Pulling on the Ignition Key Lock and Remove Lock. NOTE If Lock seems th NOT want to come out you will need to Insert the IGNITION Key, But I Believe this 1972 Does Not Require the KEY

INSTALATION IS REVERSE PROCEDURE KEEPING A CLOSE EYE ON DETAIL. THIS SHOULDTAKE 2 HOURS

The ride is based on shocks. The coil spring only gives you the ride height.
