After it stalls, turn the key back on and listen for the fuel pump in the tank. If you don't hear it it's likely it's bad. (bad ones bind when hot and usually show no code).
Otherwise check the wiring continuity for the cps and check the signal from the pickup in the distributor. (check all the way to the computer itself. Of course, check all the relays and make sure they are good (most can be interchanged with each other except for ac relay)

4.0 liter 6 cyl 2000 jeep grand cherokee i put new radiator in. new thermostat and had system flushed.it continues to overheat. with the cap off and engine running its bubbling up. is this an indication...

Either there is still air in the cooling system or you are correct that the headgasket has failed.

Running with the cap of for at least 20 minutes should clear the air out of the cooling system. If it continues to bubble after that than the bubbles are likely combustion gases sneaking by the head gasket.

Let run it with the cap on and let it start pushing coolant into the overflow. Shut it down and smell the coolant reservoir. If it smells like exhaust it is the head gasket.

Check your throtle postition sensor. It monitors what postion the throtle is at and sends that info to the ecm. It will go bad and cause that problem.

95 jeep grand cherokee died wont start,it cranks, checked fuel pump replaced filter cleaned injecters still nothing

Check to see if getting fire from coil or plugs. If not, your problem is most likely the Crankshaft Position Sensor.

$18 - $21 dollars. CPS is on left side of where transmission buckles to fly wheel, near top edge. One bolt and plugs in. (2 wires in plug)

Drive shaft to 4-wheel gear box might be in your way. No prob. 4 small bols and lower front end of drive shaft.

About a 45 - 60 minute job for shadetree mechanics, like myself, and 2 coffee breaks.

Prior syptoms of sensor going bad is engine rumbling real bad when coming to a stop, and sometimes dies but will start.

Hope this it.

1997 jeep grand cherokee runs rich after long trips

Could have a bad map sensor. The Map sensor is located on the throttle body. I have seen countless Jepp that start blowing black smoke when they go bad. That would be a good starting place.
