the pcv valve is a one piece part(positive crankcase ventilation) its located on the valve covers and has a hose attached to it that goes to the air intake hose of the air breather. this is a simple installation. the pcv valve just slips into a grommet in the valve cover and can be pulled out and pushed back in with out any tools. please rate this... thanks

SOURCE: PCV valve location

if i know what you are asking, look at where you put your oil in. on the valve cover to the top right should be a plug with a tubeing runs to your air clear tube where the air mass sensor and carb is located. i think that is what you are looking for.

SOURCE: PCV VALVE REPLACEMENT

The pcv valve is usually located on one of the valve covers look for the larger vacuum hose coming from the intake manifold and follow it you should find it that way. changing it is a matter of sometimes using a pair of pliers to remove a small clamp then rotate back and forth the pcv valve while holding the hose and pulling it away and off.

Where is the pcv valve located on a 1991 ford crown victoria?

its located at the back of the engine near the firewall. it has a large hose connected to it(3/8") if I remember right. it is attached to top of the PCV valve. pull the hose off then you can pull the valve out of the rubber grommet that holds it into the engine.

How to replace PCV Valve 2004 Mazda 6s V6 3L

Step 1: Identify PCV and remove connectors for space:
If you look at the back of the engine, there is a 5/8" tube running into the intake manifold. In picture #1, you'll see that this tube has a green sticker on it (red box #3). You can't see the PCV valve from this angle, but if you follow that tube down, you'll see a gray plastic piece. That is the PCV valve.

For step 1, we remove the 2 hoses and an electrical connectors (red boxes 1, 2, and 3). That will give us more clearance.

Step 2: Remove the tubes to get to the PCV valves.
Right, now you need to remove the 5/8" tube completely (the one with the green sticker). Picture #2 you can see that there are some hose-grips on that tubes, so using small pliers will help here.

After that, there is another adapter connected to that piece. Please see picture #3 and #4 for reference. That adapter must be remove because it spins freely. To remove, use your hand (no tools needed). Press the green adapter to release the grip and pull up.

Step 3: Remove PCV valve
You can see the full assembly in picture #3 and #4. Next is to remove the PCV valve. There is a shallow thread on that PCV valve, so you'll need to turn it to remove it. Use something to help you, like a clamp or pliers and rotate the PCV valve 1/4 turn counter-clockwise. This will be kind of difficult, but just keep working on it and it will loosen and pop out. A long reach nose-pliers can come in handy. In picture #5, you can see how tight it is down there.

Step 4: Replace and reconnect.
Replace the old PCV valve with the new one. Reconnect all the other hoses and connectors. Start engine and check for leaks. That's it.

hope this helps good luck!

Remove PCV valve from rocker cover. Run engine at i
dle. Place thumb over open end of PCV valve to
check for vacuum. If there is no vacuum at valve, c
heck for obstruction in manifold port, hoses or PCV
valve. Repair or replace as necessary.

Turn engine off. Remove PCV valve. Shake valve and
listen for rattle of check valve inside. If a clear
rattle is not heard, replace PCV valve.

Visually inspect valve for varnish or deposits whic
h may make PCV valve operation sticky, restricted o
r
cause incomplete seating of valve. Replace if neces
sary. An engine must be sealed for the PCV system t
o
function as designed. If leakage, sludging or dilut
ion of oil is noted AND the PCV system is functioni
ng
properly, check engine for cause and repair as requ
ired to insure PCV system will continue to function
properly. An engine operating without any crankcase
ventilation can be damaged so it is important to
replace PCV valve and air cleaner breather at regul
ar intervals (at least every 30,000 miles). Check a
ll hoses
and clamps for failure or deterioration.

I have a 2002 Ford Ranger 4.0L. Somehow, it keeps blowing the PCV hose. I have replaced it 3 times in the last 2 months. The last time, I replaced the entire hose system (both elbows and plastic tube)...

It could only be pressure from the crankcase which would mean you have excessive blowby from the combustion chamber getting past the piston rings.
You should be able to feel this pressure when you disconnect the hose from the pcv valve. Or the pcv valve is not letting the blowby to get sucked into the engine to get re-burned.

How many miles on engine and is it running good.

the pcv valve is behind the alternator between the alternator and oil filter. when you remove the oil filter you can see the pcv in the intake manifold. best way to get to it is through the pass side fender under the rubber mud flap thats between the wheel and engine.
