Latches are siezed and will require so help to open. try using a rubber mallet and tapping the outside door handle till it seems to have some resistance. you might have to tap alot. once the latch spring is in the right place then lock and unlock car to activate the clips and then pull handle. repeat untill door opens, then take door apart, remove latch and oil till all clips and spring move freely. Now put it all back together and it should work well.

98 accord door handle broke door will not open

A non electric door, (which?) wont open, lock works ok, handle wont open the door.
What can I do to fix it.
well telling the door to us would help, and options.
so no electric locks,
there are 2 levers. one inside and one outside.
so you pull the door card (inside door covering)
and look at both locks , the inside pull, its it working?
then look at the key lock cylinder. is it connected still
and last are both connected to the latch mechanism.
one can cycle this latch lever inside the door shell.
if that fails the latch is busted.
all this is covered in the FSM ,why not read it.? (under body)
free , too.

Wow. That's a bad one. I guess your only option is to try and remove the inner door panel and open it from inside. Good luck.

1998 honda accord driver side door won't open inside or outside but it can lock and unlock.

The lock / unlock operations are performed either electrically or manually directly on the solenoid installed on each door, and has nothing to do with the opening mechanism. In all probability, the metal rod that goes up from the door latching mechanism to the outside and inside handle, has become unattached / dislodged from the unit. This requires taking down the inside of the door panel, in order to reach the latch, and its operating rods. Look elsewhere on Fixya, for instructions on how to dismount the door panel. I think i provided instructions for this in the past.

1) Linkage from the inside handle became unhooked.
2) Linkage on many hondas have plastic parts that are prone to break.
3) In any case, you will have to take off the inside upholstery from the door to inspect the linkage, or other faulty part. It happened to me in my Accord. A plastic part broke in the linkage, very near the inside of the handle, i fixed it with super glue, and it lasted a week. As expected, a OEM part was needed, and fixed the problem.

92 Accord. Driver door not opening. Lock works. Took inside cover off. Rods going in to the Lock don't seem to be grabing any thing to open the door?

It sounds as though one of the rods (the one leading from the inside door handle to the latch, called the release rod. The other is called the lock rod) has slipped out of the latch at the door closure. Since you have removed the door liner (and the plastic skin, I assume) you should be able (with your window all the way down) to see what the situation is through the access hole near the lock/latch portion of the door. If the rod that hooks into the inner door handle doesn't feel as though it is connected to anything (when you pull it toward the front of the car) then the other end of that rod (the latch connection) has either broken or simply slipped out of the hole that it goes through (and may have fallen down some). There is normally a plastic rod retainer or something of that sort at both ends of that rod, to keep the rod in the holes it's supposed to go through. Sometimes they break of work loose. Take a careful look and you will probably be able to see if that is the problem. You say that the lock works. Does the outside door handle work? If so, that tends to indicate that there is nothing wrong with the latch itself.

Rear door lock not working

this is going to be a tough one. the rod that connect the door handle to the lock assembly is no longer attached and the door liner will have to come off to fix it. It's not so tough to get the door line off "if you can open the door to do it" when the door is closed it's another story. Good luck

Power Door Lock On 1990 Honda Accord LX Coupe is broken

Remove the door panel , should be a few screws and push clips.
once you have that off follow the rod from the latch to the handle to see where it has broken. you maybe lucky and find the rod has come out of a clip.Good luck and if you need more help let me know as my wife drives one of these.
