I changed my rotors and brake pads on my 2003 dodge grand caravan and it is now grinding on my rim

Did you verify that the parts you installed matched the parts that came off the vehicle? What part is dragging on the rim? And by rim, I assume you are talking about the wheel itself? A common mistake on this vehicle is that there are two different brakes and brake rotor designs on them. Verify that the parts are the same as what came off and you will probably find the problem.

At least one of your rear calipers is likely sticking and needs replacing.

Chevy cavalier jerks when stopping

Possible brake issue caused by warped rotor or sticking brake caliper. If it pulses when braking have the rotors turned or replace them. Would also replace the brake pads while you have it apart. Old pads should be the same thickness for both inboard and outboard pad. If one is thinner than the other it is an indication that the caliper is sticking or hanging up.

I have what appears to be excessive brake pad and rotor wear. Less than 10,000 km between need for pad replacements and rotor replacements or machining. 2007 100 series V8 PETROL TOYOTA landcruiser....

It could be something as simple as the caliper pistons are binding/sticking. which is inhibiting the smooth engage/disengagement of the pads on the disks.

It means taking each wheel off, probably removing the pads and cleaning the pistons, especially around the sides where they move in and out of the caliper. Maybe a little copper grease to aid movement.

How to change rear brake pads in 2008 dodge caravan?

In this tutorial, we learn how to check the brake pads on a 2008 Dodge Caravan, check the thickness of the brake pads on the car to see if they are thick enough. The rear pad is surrounded by a gold piece called the "shoe" and the rotor. The front pad has to be inspected by laying on your back and looking for the pad to see how thick it is. If the thickness is not enough, you need to replace it as soon as possible. Make sure the brake pads are up to t

Front Brakes

Interesting, disc brakes don't normally stick. Since there is no tension pressure against the pads like drum brakes.

You indicated you replaced the right caliper and the master cylinder, but no mention of the disc or the piston (Some caliper assemblies are all in one, some are not.)

Here are some thoughts:

Disc is contaminated with oil, grease, brake fluid etc, when you brake, it is absorbed by the pad, gets hot and sticks.

You didn't replace left caliper, piston isn't working well, sending all pressure to right side.

You didn't indicate, new, used or rebuilt caliper. If used, get anew/remanufactured SET of calipers and either semi-mettalic or ceramic pads, and new rotors (I used to get rotors turned, but new replacements are now generally cheaper that turning old ones. When working with brakes I always recommend you work them as a set, regardless of how good the other side looks.

Make sure you clean the rotors with a solvent to ensure any grease or anti-rust agent is removed and dry will with several paper towels.

When installing pads, ensure you do not touch the braking surface of the pad or the rotor, body oil can contaminate too.
Make sure that the siding surface of the caliper is lubricatred with silicone grease designed for calipers (little packets are available at your parts store) On my GM Cars, it is the bolts that mount the caliper, but this varies by caliper design

Hope that is
