Sounds like you have a part of your linkage that popped off the pivot. Open the hood remove the 2 small esthetic caps on the wiper baldes. Remove the 2- 13mm nuts. Use a little wiper puller and pull the arms off the linkage. Remove the plastic tray starting by first removing the 4 screws on the passenger side to remove the pollen filter cover, then removing the outer edge pieces then slowly pulling up on the ends to disengage the tray. The tray is just pushed in, no clips or screws. You can then see the wiper linkage. Do not put your hands there while the ignition is on. I'd suggest even removing the battery terminals so the wipers don't accidently come on. Check you must have a pivot arm that came off. Check to see if it's damaged and what part you'll need. The linkage can be removed with the motor with 3 small 10mm bolts.

SOURCE: windshield wiper

Check to see if the wiper motor moves the passenger side. If so, You may need to tighten the nut that connects the arm to the motor. Mine was stripped out because or snow & ice. So, I went to home depot and found a lock washer to fit.

SOURCE: windshield wiper on driver's side of Hyuandi doesn't work -

I recently had the same problem of the drivers side wiper not working. My boyfriend (a mechanic) took the windshield cowl off and looked to see what was going on. He originally thought that maybe something had slipped off. I'm going to describe what he found in layman's terms. When you take off the wiper blade arms from the wiper transmission assembly unit there are these silver colored nubs with grooves on them (one for each wiper). What he found was that on mine the grooves were stripped so that the wiper on the drivers side wouldn't catch and go across the windshield while the other wiper worked fine. What we think that happened is that I left the wipers on when I shut off the car and since we had a huge snowstorm the wiper transmission bound up and stripped the nubs when I turned on the vehicle the next day and let it warm up. I had tried for the past week to find a used replacement wiper transmissions assembly but was not successful. I just ordered the part from my local Hyundai dealer at a cost of $180. I will at least save on the labor, as my boyfriend can handle that part. If you try to get the part used, be careful. There was a product change mid-year. Prior to June 2004 (If I remember correctly) is one part number and Santa Fe's manufactured after that date is a different part. I needed the earlier Santa Fe part. You can look at the body panel between the front and back doors on the driver's side for the production date of your vehicle there is a metal decal with the vin, your color codes, and other information.

There is a bar that connects both your windshield wipers together check that to see if it is broke or has come unscrewed. Should be underneath the hood upagainst the firewall.

Olds Silhouette Passenger Side wiper not working

Your wipers have a transmission of its own. It is located between the wiper motor and the wiper arms. the linkage to the right wiper arm has fallen off. More than likely you will need to replace the transmission. If the wiper motor is original, replace it at the same time. Sometimes you can buy the two together. Any other questions, feel free to write back, good luck.

One windshield wiper not working

Maybe the nut that hold the wiper to the linkage is either loose or stripped? The linkage itself is bad?

I think your wiper motor is fine because the passenger side works and uses the same motor to move the wipers.

Passenger Windshield Wiper Not Working

If it were the motor neither side would move. Chances are its the linkage.
You'll probably need to remove the panel under the windshield to access the linkage and check it out.

The passenger side windshield wiper doesn't work but the driver side does.

unscrew the arm on the passenger side, clean inside the hole and on the shaft. use teflon tape on the shaft, 5-6 turns should do it and screw back the arm on the shaft. try it. if it works good, if it doesn't, the shaft will have to be replaced
