When the engine is overheating, put your hand on the radiator, if it is cold, then the problem is almost certainly your thermostat, they are easily replaced in most cases and only cost a small amount from a motor factors. Has the coolant been changed recently? and have you confirmed the water pump is working effectively by removing a hose and then starting the engine (a notable pressure increase should occur)
