Chances are ur headlight motor is going bad and will need replacing soon....lots of cars with the pop up headlights do this. its pretty common, no big deal. go on ebay and get the part though. the dealership will charge at least 50 but ebay about 15

The headlights in a 95 firebird doesn't want to

If the headlight makes any kind of noise when you try to shut it then you need to either replace the motor and gears or just the gears. The kits to rebuild them are sold by suppliers of parts for Pontiac cars. Just google it.

My Girlfriend is wanting to sell her car but she has been driving a different car and left the Firebird sit for about 6-7 months. She now has started driving the car and is having a few issues with her...

Ok.She needs a new headlight assembly. That is about $200.00 plus core charge. My light also grinded until it got fixed. My fuel guage is also broke.I just fill up every 200 miles. So it needs fixed. The clock is probably a fuse. The CEL, have it read at Autozone. If you get a p420 is is your CAT. Just had mine replaced today. If the air compressor kicks on has she checked her coolant and charged her ait at all? The air comp will run when you are low on fluid for your A/C.You will have a hard time selling with the CEL. However, I bought mine with it and it was the CAT.These cars are a nightmare and if she can sell it I would say go for it!Be prepared to shell out alot. Also I was just told that some parts are getting ahrder to find for these cars. A New CAt is anywhere between 250.00 on up.I had to get a new CAT and muffler system today$$$$ 600.00. Good Luck!

2000 pontiac firebird headlights make grinding niose when closed

This problem is caused by the headlight gear being stripped. If you go on ebay, there is someone who sells brass headlight gears. Once you put the gear in, you will not have this problem again. . . unless the other gear goes bad. It's usually the driver's side headlight that does it.

Ouch!  If both are doing it, I don't have a clue; I'm pretty sure that the motors are shut off by limit switches, similar to how wipers 'park' themselves and are probably adjustable although they may have gotten grime in the swtiches (should be sealed though) causing them to not contact properly.

Headlight fuse 1998 firebird

The fuse box you are looking for is under the hood. You will find a black square box and it should say FUSE on top. Take the lid off and the cover should have the location of the headlamp fuse. If it is not the fuse/breaker it could be a bad dimmer switch in the column.

1991 pontiac firebird retractable headlamps will not open

Could be a loose or bad wire leading to the motor that flips the headlights, or thed motor could be going bad itself. checxk those out, and if its not one of those, it could be in your cars computer.
