Location of thermostat in 1997 chevy luminia 3.1 liter engine

The thermostat is located in the thermostat housing which is on the intake manifold under the throttle body (drivers side) to replace it, your going to have to remove the heat shield to the exhaust crossover and you can remove the two bolts that hold the thermostat in place with the right extension and swivel.
Note you only have to remove one bolt and looses the other one, the housing has a slot cutout to slide it out. Good luck and be safe.
Thank you for suing fixya and here are two links to the type of engine used in your Lumina.

The correct firing order is 18436572. If you need the correct cylinder locations they are as follows:

Passenger side from the front 2 4 6 8

I need location of the a/c orifce filter for a 1997 s-10 truck, with a 4.3 liter, so I can change.

it is located in the dryer, you have to remove the large line from the dryer and it is inside the port that the line comes off of. it usually takes a special tool to remove it. hope that helps.

97 chevy 4.3 liter no spark no fuel pump running.

4.3 and 2.8 motors have a ceramic module in the distributor. if you have alot of miles on the truck, and there is no spark, that module is usually the culprit. easy to replace with a nut driver and some dielectric grease. mod is located in the distributor when you take the cap off look straight dowm and its right there.
also check eec relay and fuse. that will also cause the prob.

Heater blows hot and cold and fan motor runs alot more than norm

The thermostat is in the water pump on these motors(front middle of motor). Follow the radiator hose. There are two bolts to remove then the thermostat pulls out.
