That would fall under the federal emissions warranty, 80,000 miles, no time limit as far as I know.

Most "common" cause is and engine misfire that causes unburned fuel to enter the converter and overheat/melt the catalyst. The converter is covered by 8yr/80,000 mile warranty for defects, and may be covered thru Kia. On a positive note we have a 2005 sedona shuttle van a work with 250,000 miles on it and qoing strong.
