The oil you find your antifreeze is probably transmission fluid. This is when the trans cooler built into the radiator leaks internally.

Hi,

Anti freeze in the oil can come from a bad head gasket, cracked cylinder sleeve, or even someone pouring the antifreeze into the wrong fill on the engine.

What to do now? First thing drain the oil and the anti freeze. Refill the oil and refil the coolant with plain water. This is important as oil/antifreeze mix can sized an engine during testing.

Next put a pressure gauge on the cooling system. They make a special cap that connects to a pump. Start the engine and watch the needle. If it bounces with the power stroke you know for sure the engine needs some work-IE pull the head and start from there.

Next leave the pressure on the cooling system and watch to see if the pressure drops. If so you have a leak from the cooling to somewhere, but probably the oil system, like through the head gasket or a cracked sleeve.

This should get you onto the right track.

Hope i helped you.

Thanks for using ' Fixya ' and have a nice day!!

How to install new oil housing kit 94 f 150 5.0

If you got oil coming out when it's running around oil filter. You probably got a oilfilter adapter. You have to remove oil filter(replace) and let oil drop off adapter. After a bit wipe adapter off and you will foind one alan-head bolt in the center or two alan-head bolts. After removing clean, install gasket or a o-ring it could take both. Don't over tighten bolts. Make sure you clean off old oil where oil filter seats

Now that I think about it you will need to replace the ignition switch. You should be able to use the old cylinder lock and key.

My Volvo is overheating and mixes the engine oil with the coolant, however, there's no sign of coolant and oil mixture in the engine, only in the radiator and coolant lines. The oil cooler is also clean....

the oil that you are seeing may be transmission fluid if its an automatic, the transmission lines go through the radiator for cooling.if the radiator fails in that section ,it could be leaking into the antifreze,or you have a blown head gasket
