Question about 2001 Ford Expedition

2 Answers

I have complete sound going to all four door speakers. However there is no sound coming from the subwoofer. I tried connect another speak to the amp to see if sound would come from that speaker but no luck. Could there be a simple solution like a blown fuse or is there a bigger proble? Please assist or recommend.

First check to make sure you have power to the amp. if you have power then check to audio input to your amp.

Well if your amp is working (lighting and what night) than it could be so also if you have an aftermarket head unit you might need to turn the audio out on for the subwoffer

Amps have a high and low input. You can run some speaker wire from your rear speakers to the high input on your amp. It comes with a small white plug with four wires. Use the green for one side, and the grey for the other! So no, you do not!

Speaker removal

Good day,
In your trunk there are 2 small amps. The first amp is connected to your car speakers. The second amp is connected to your subwoofer. Once you locate the subwoofer amp. Your subwoofer amp will be the amp close to the sub enclosure. Unplug the subwoofer from the amp. Your next step is to unscrew the 4 10mm bolts so that you can remove the sub enclosure. At this point you can now remove the enclosure. It will take a some time as it always seems to be up there pretty good. But once it starts to move it should come out with little work. I hope this helps with your removal of the subwoofer.

sound like the head unit's out put mosfet is going bad, but i have also ran in to this problem when it was a speaker wires shorting out. so first check the connection on your rear speakers.

Saturn L200 2003 speaker replacement

i just got a four speaker upgrade with alpine type rs. the front doors are 6.5 inches and the rear are about 5 1/4 inches and are a huge pain to get out, mine had to be cut out. be careful if u are going to get component speakers because the door tweeter are super small and hide the screw for the door panel and u will probably have to cut a new hole some where to fit them in. since these saturns arent known for their sound quality, i suggest that you either do rear deck speakers, like im about to do, or get cheap new speakers for your doors and a subwoofer or two. my car has almost no bass even with the alpine type rs. i hope this can help you out
