Looking for location of heater fan on a 1978 pontiac firebird

  1. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
  2. Disconnect the hoses and wiring from the fender skirt.
  3. Remove all the fender skirt attaching bolts except those attaching the skirt to the radiator support.
  4. Pull out, then down, on the skirt. Place a block between the skirt and fender.
  5. Remove the blower-to-case attaching screws. Remove the blower assembly.
  6. Remove the blower wheel retaining nut and separate the motor and wheel.
  7. Reverse the procedure to install. The open end of the blower should be away from the motor. Use new sealer on the blower case flange.

Check the knock sensor on the right side of the block, below the head, and above the oil pan.Check to see if it is plugged up good. Then check the wire all the way up to the wire harness,to see if it is grounding out on the engine somewhere.I hope this was helpful261213.jpg

Cooling fan does not work, new fan just installed, will not "kick in"when car warms up.overheating.

I would suspect a faulty or malfunctioning cooling fan switch. Go to the autozone website and register your car. It doesn't cost anything and will give you access to an online repair manual for your car. The inspection/testing/replacement procedures for the cooling fan switch should be available there. Hope this helped and best wishes.

My 1994 Firebird trans am headlights are giving me trouble. I put brass gears in two years ago and they have worked fine. now I am having a problem where I turn on the lights and the doors com up fine,...

lol ok.. you may need to check all of your lights and fuses, not just head lights.. example from experience, we had a 91 firebird that had a tail light out and every time we hit the brake pedal both head lights would come up after replacing the bulb on the tail light the head lights were fixed...

1985 Fiero: headlight doors will not open

Your headlight motors are bad. Pre-87 cars had a terrible problem with this, upgrade them to the 87-up style. Firebird/Corvette motors are the same.

Quetion about aftemarket side skirts....

honestly your best bet would to be installing the side skirts with pop-rivets. Get a manual pop riveter. You can purcjase this at any local hardware store, also you will need to purchase some pop rivets. Ask a sales associate what sise you will need, by telling them what you are riveting they should be able to help you find the right size and length.Start by marking exactly where your side skirts will be on the car. Make sure to align the skirts perfectly in mock up so you wont run into any issues with the door rubbing against the newly installed part. mark your holes for where you want to put the rivets placing one every 9 inches to a foot apart. You may also use fewer or more rivets it all depends on how secure you feel with your work. Next after all your holes have been marked drill holes in the spots that you have marked, this will allow you to lign your side skirt back up and mark the frame. Once the frame is marked you will need to drill the marked holes out. Be sure that the drill bit you use does not exceed the size of the stud on your rivet. This will cause the shield to seat wrong and make it that much easier to putt out of the frame. Finally after all your holes are drilled install your rivets and break off the studs. You should be good to go. Word of advice if your car is allready paintes and your side skirts arent, but you are planning to paint them after installation, DONT! drinn your holes in the kis sand any rough edges down and paint it will save you time and hassle in the long run trust me! hopes this helped
