Question about 2003 Chevrolet Blazer
While driving my 2001 chevy blazer the 4wheel drive button randomly comes on. It goes back to 2 wheel drive when you push the button. Already replaced the acuator switch...stopped for a while but is doing it again now.
What is going on is there is a vacuum ball switch in the transfer case. When the tranfer case is shifted, it pushes up on the ball and sends vacuum to lock up the front differential What always happens to these is that $15 dollar ball switch sticks half way up and allows some vacuum to try to engage the frontdifferential even when the case is shifted to 2WD The switch is located on the drivers side at the transfercase drivers side right above where the front axle meets the transfercase you cant miss it It has three vacuum lines to to..It's the only thing located there with three vacuum lines into it. Unplug the vacuum lines and use a 7/8 wrench and screw it out..change over the o-ring that seals it into the case to the new switch..if the new one doesnt have the o-ring screw it then tighten the new switch hook up vacuum lines
