Ok first of all there should be a set screw that is clearly visible or it nearby pops out with the use of a flat head screwdriver but before removing the disk the use of a razor blade is required t remove the old glue always in an away from your body when doing so 2nd rear view mirror glue is available at the local parts store for around $5.00 remove the residue from the windshield as well and keep a few lengths of tape preopened to use when you glue the disk up { be sure to mark the outside of the window by drawing around the old imprint where the disk once stood open the package and use the cleaner on both windshield and disk let stand as required then making sure the disk is in the upright position apply the glue and tape it to the windshield and let stand overnight before applying the mirror make sure the disk is the right way up so the mirror will fit over the top and down onto the disk not from up under it

Mine has a small allen type set screw. Most large auto parts store have the glue for this. Make sure the glass and the disk are spotlessly clean. Follow the directions on the package of mirror glue. I hope this helps.

Rearview mirror fell off. how do i remove the metal plate from the mirror to reglue

It may be held on by small set screw. (Allen wrench type) Or it just pops on and off, with effort.
To pop it off, hold the mirror as it would normally sit, and with that position in mind, you want to slide the metal plate down and out of the mirror clip, and you may have to pry on it a bit to get it started.

After you have reattached the plate to the windshield, you will have to apply almost the same force to clip the mirror back on.

Tips: Mark the location of the metal plate with a piece of tape on the outside of the windshield.
Make sure you clean the old glue off both the plate and windshield. Do not scratch metal plate.
Make sure you glue the plate on correctly. Do a trial fit on the mirror just prior to glueing.

The small metal piece is just glued to the glass , and is probably still in the mirror assembly. You can buy the "special " glue at any auto parts store.
Glue the metal piece on , then after it has fully dried you can slide the mirror back on.

there is a screw that holds that piece of metal in place. take the screw out and remove the piece of metal then look at a local hardware or automotive store and ask for the windshield adhesive. and fallow that instructions pay close attention to the temperature to be applied at and the Harding or drying time.

INTERIOR REARVIEW MIRROR FELL OFF

Just about all auto parts stores carry a little kit that includes slovent and glue to replace the metal "nub" onto the glass. There is a screw on the mirror that attaches the mirror to this "nub". Do not use force to remove the old glue or nub, windshield will crack.
