Does fuel pump run when you turn key to the run position...open gas cap stick in a funel put ear to funnel.. have some one turn key to run position......does check engine light come on when key in run position.......they have two very common problems....first the fuel pump relays and next very common problem is the ground for the ecm...main computer.....look at the battery then look at ground or negative wire you wiil see a smaller wire comming off the terminal. these will got to a bullet looking connector...cut out this connector and hook wires directly. even if not your problem it will be one day...write back if more needed

You may need check the spark plug. Cleaning or Replacing it could possibly fix the issue. Also clean or replace the battery terminals. Testing a different battery is another option to try.

I have a 1989 Ford f150 drive for about 30 minutes it dies out or stop and want crank for about an hour

I would unplug the gas cap when it stalls; if you hear a hissing sound, change the gas cap, because it builds up a vacuum in the tank.

1989 ford f150 turns over but want start

Run basic troubleshooting tests. Do you have spark at the plugs when cranking? Is fuel pressure correct? Is timing belt broken? Run compression test.

Can you hear the fuel pump engage when you first turn the key forward? Do not attempt to turn on the truck but just place it in the on position you should be able to hear and feel the fuel pump for approximately 3 seconds. If not you have a fuel pump relay problem if not the pump itself.

1989 ford f150 starts but wont stay running

When is the last time you replaced the fuel filter? They are recommended about annually or every two years. Could be a fuel clog. Are the fuel lines leaking anywhere underneath the car?

2004 f150 starter wont start

Hi,
First a couple of questions. 1. How old is the battery or has it been replaced? 2. Do you have a lot of electronics in your vehicle? Most importantly what is the cold cranking amp rating of your battery? The CCA rating is stamped on your battery and for your F150 varies quite a bit in choices if you have added electronics, leave your phone or gps plugged in or your radar detector ect. The colder the temp the more cranking amps you need and the problem is compounded with any extra load or if your battery was replaced with one with less CCAs. Your F150 could probably use a battery with a least 875 CCAs. More if you have lots of electronic stuff. If you live in the far north where the temps are routinely that cold then you should consider a fluid circulation pump known as a block heater that plugs into an ac outlet to keep your engine warmer and prevent freezing and thick oil problems especially if you have to park outside. Good Luck
