More than likely the fuel pump is worn out, it is temprature more than just rain that makes it act up, the bearings wear out and the pump sticks and doesn't spin, replace the fuel pump, the fuel filter and the fuel pump connector at the gas tank sending unit, the gas tank must be removed to access this fuel pump, remember to replace the filter or the fuel pump warranty will be void.

Car cranks but wont start

IF the motor is cranking, is it getting any fuel? When you turn your key on, do you hear the fuel pump kick on? Most cars today are fuel injected, and use an electric fuel pump. With another partner, have them stick their ear on the gas tank as you are turning the car on. You should hear some kind of pump, if not, your fuel pump may be dead.

Why won't my car start? It was running last night.

Try start the car again when it is completely dry, if it starts the rain may be short circuiting something on the loom in the engine bay.

If it still wont start,

will it turn over? (car tries to start)
- If it wont turn over the battery would be dead

- If it turns over but wont burst into life then we can go from there ^_^

My 95 lincoln town car will be fine and then all of a sudden I can't get it to crank. I have changed the fuel pump, the fuel filter, I have sparks because I got shocked. was taught a trick of pushing...

check all your rounds on the body, behind kick panels, and in engine compartment. The relays you hear clicking are the power relay whcih turns your engine computer on. The other relay is the fuel pump relay, which is turned on by the engine computer. start there, report back.

PS. When you press the gas pedal to the floor during cranking, it shuts off the fuel supply to clear a flooded engine.

My 1999 ford expidition want start

Could be many things. First i would listen for the fuel pump to kick on whenever you turn the key on(without starting). Then if you don't hear it kicking on, check all your fuses. Especially the fuel pump fuse. If none of your fuses are bad, then your fuel pump is shot and you need to replace it. After that, if it still wont start, Check to see if your getting spark to your spark plugs. You can do this by taking the sprk plug out, and keeping it hooked to the wire and have someone try to crank the motor. As they are turning the motor over, see if you see the spark plug sparking. If not, then its your coil packs, or your vehicle is off time. ALSO, try changing the crank sensor. That could be why its not starting as well. Hope this helps, James Booth. Please rate this. :) And good luck with your experiance in trying to crank your vehicle. Have a good day.

Running fine. Died and wont start. Cranks fine

can you hear the fuel pump kick on when you turn the key on but without crancking the engine? Generally the fuel pump will prime for about two to three seconds when you first turn the key on. if you don't hear it that's probably the culprit. If you do hear it it may be a bad pump. also should check to see if you have spark. You can do this by removing a plug wire and using another spark plug. Ground the plug to somthing metal and have someone crank the engine (making sure you are not touching the plug or metal) You should see a spark while cranking. Good luck

Car doesn't start somedays? No fuel pump sound

You might have a bad connection on the fuel pump. Pull the fuel pump and check the wire connections.

Turns over fine but will not fire. Same thing happened about a month ago. Hat it hauled to Honda dealer. They pushed it into the garage and it started. they couldn't find anything wrong. It was raining then...

Hello.
The car may need a tune-up. If the spark plugs are bad, they will not ignite the fuel on somedays and some circumstances. An overall tune-up requires a cap on the distributer also which can very well be your problem. Once the cap gets moisture under it, the spark is not that strong causing the spark in the wires and plugs to be very faint. Under the cap also may be corroded causing the car not to start also.
If none of that works, you may have a bad PCM. Or a bad crank positioning sensor. I would bring it back to Honda and have them give it a tune up and look over the PCM and crank positioning sensor. Thats what it sounds like to me.
Hope this helps! -Steve

Car cranks then an hour later won't crank

Battery or starter. Sometimes the battery will have enough power to activate fuel pump and dash lights but not enough to turn starter.
