The dash lights are controlled by the headlight switch (depending on year) and a seperate fuse, if the lights on radio and heater control work it is probably not fuse but a dash relay or switch. If you have a library card you can log on to the harford county library ( I am sure most librarys have the same service) and go to the reference section pick out your year and model then select the electrical section or my even be a dashboard section. I have used this service many times and it has come in very helpful. Every year and model are a little different so a wiring schematic may come in very handy, which they also have. The hearter sounds like a control problem, electrical problems on Caddys are very difficult they have so many computers and relays almost impossible to fix them without seeing the car. good luck try to find a wiring schematic to see how the lights are Powered, go from there, ground etc. sorry can't be of more help hope i guided you somewhat.

Ambient lighting, lights on steering wheel for cruise control, heating and AC lights, and taillights all out. Is that a fuse issue or relay issue or neither?

Do your headlights work on both low and high beam? Newer vehicle wiring is different than conventional older cars as they have switched to the CAN protocol, which sends multiple signals over a single wire instead of having individual wires. It removed a lot of extra weight and wiring for manufacturers, but made electrical much more complex. This might be a question for a Ford forum.

I have a 98 buick regal and the lights to my heater and ac dont work so i camt see where i have the temp. set at or where the fan is blowing. is there a fuse for that

If the rest of the dash lights/radio lights are working that the fuse is good. I don't remember off hand if the bulbs in the HVAC control head are serviceable. You can check to see if there is a part number for the bulbs by calling your local gm dealer. If there are bulbs available than pulling the control head and replacing them is not that hard of a job.

Lights or fuse for my speed odemeter guage and heater/air conditioning system

These lights for the dash are controlled by a rheostat instrument control dimmer switch next to the main light switch for the headlights, it is either turned off (have seen this dozens of times) or it is defective. Below is a picture of the switch assembly I speak of. The thumb wheel next to the knob is the dimmer control.

My gear shifting lights and cig lighter don't work. Any lights on the Center console don't work. I checked the fuse box and they seem fine, although I cant find where those lights would be. ...

All I can say is that I think it may be a wire or wires in the dash area. Mine forces me to drive with a separate light to see speedometer. The radio goes on frequently and changes itself from cd to tape to radio. Driver heated seat no longer works. See if some of your lights work with the headlights off. Some of mine do. I have had mechanics look, but at $90 an hour, I pull em out after a few hours and no results...

How do I access the dash lights for the speedometer and the tachometere? You cannot easily remove the dash. Are they accessible through an air vent?

you can do it like this. Let me know if you have questions.

  1. Disconnect the negative battery cable. Wait at least 90 seconds for models equipped with an air bag.
CAUTION Some models covered by this guide may be equipped with a Supplemental Restraint System (SRS), which uses an air bag. Whenever working near any of the SRS components, such as the impact sensors, the air bag module, steering column and instrument panel, disable the SRS.
  1. Remove the fuse box cover from under the left side of the instrument panel.
  2. Remove the heater control knobs.
  3. Using a screwdriver, carefully pry off the heater control panel.

To install:

  5. Install the fuse box cover if removed.
  6. Connect the negative battery cable.

Lights in the dashboard

Check operation & wiring at light control rheostat (left side of dash) & If everything else with electrical is OK, sounds like the bulbs may have simply blown. You will have to pull out instrument cluster to get at the bulbs.
