It could be the plug, but more likely the problem lies with a diry, gummed up carburator, a clogged fuel filter, or deteriored fuel lines or diaphragm. These are some places that I'd start. Sitting inactive for that long is hard on small engines. Grab some carburator cleaner and start cleaning and troubleshooting the fuel delivery system. Another little trick is to put a couple of drops of transmission fluid into the spark plug hole and slowly pull the pull cord, then let it set for awhile. This sometimes help free up stubborn trimmers that have been stored for long periods. Hope this helped and best wishes.

I couldn't find a diagram. The closest that I could come up with was the firing order for the 1968 Ford 302 engine. The firing order is 1 -3 -7- 2 -6- 5- 4- 8. Best wishes.
