Question about 2001 Hyundai Accent

2001 Accent, suddenly won't start

Seems the fuel pump will not run. New plugs & wires. New pump, new fuel pump relay, still will not "pump". I was told a shock sensitive switch may be the problem, where and how do I reset it?

2 door hatchback, it does look like a small "box of stuff" behind the drivers rear wheel I will pull off tonight, but I am stumped. 1st issue in 9 years with the car, I'd buy another one.....

New pump. New fuel pump relay. New filter. Turning the key I used to hear the pump kick on, but nothing now. Something is preventing the pump for coming on and I hate to try to bypass it. Or worse, spend $1,000 garage bill on a $500 car.

Your model doesn't use an Inertia cut off switch for the fuel pump, chances are the fuel pump has just failed, they do that quite often.

I install a new fuel pump in a 2001 hyundai accent and now it wont start, whats wrong.

Was it running before you worked on it? If so, double check your work.
Make sure battery has a full charge and battery connections all good. Did you check good voltage and ground for fuel pump motor at the wiring connector?
If it cranks good but won't start, have a helper crank it, while you check for spark at the spark plugs. If spark everywhere, use a gage and check proper fuel pressure, I don't care if the pump is new, check fuel pressure, anyway. Also, check fuel injector pulse. Only crank the starter motor a few seconds at a time, let it cool off.
Are there any applicable trouble codes? How long since over-all tune-up?

Toyota 4runner sr5 won't start its getting gas and spark.

Sounds like the problem is beyond your ability to diagnose

Too much fuel could be a leaking fuel injector or fuel pressure
regulator.

Too much gas & a no start isn't really the issue

Did it start & run before you did the wires,I would check your work
& mark the wires with a pen & also have diagram on paper before
you start a job like that. Especially when if you have no reference
material.

You put a mechanical fuel pressure gauge on a running engine
& the apply vacuum with a hand pump to regulator to watch for
pressure change,eg: pump pressure vs: regulator press

2001 Buick Century. Fuel gauge didn't work. I bought a new fuel pump with fuel level sensor on it, installed, car will not start. I replaced the fuel pump relay, put the OLD fuel pump back in with...

I had a Grand Prix one time (basically the same car) that had a problem with the fuel pump harness. This harness plugs into the top of the fuel pump as you know, and into the floorboard underneath the car. Check the floorboard end for corrosion or broken wires.

Vehicle ( Hyundai Accent ) start but quit after 10 seconds. For this problem we replaced ECM & Engine wiring Harness also fuel pump but problem was not solved pl guide

Find the fuel pump relay, connect across the contacts from B+ to the fuel pump. This will make the pump run continuously. see if the engine stays running. It may be a bad relay or a relay feed circuit which is also run the the auto shut down switch. Lee

Find power wire coming from relay to pump when key switched on, & follow it back to pump. If you have power out of relay & nothing at pump, then I'd look for a break in wire to rear, or just run a new one. Double check your ground as well.

Do you have access to an amp clamp to check amps going to the glow plugs. Remove the oil temp sender which is on the back of the hi psi oil pump reservior 2 wires. This will make the relay run longer. Then hook clamp over the 2 brown wires on glowplug relay should have about 175 amps if its working right. I have also seen the fuel heater inside the fuel filter housing go bad as well. Might check all the fuses as well incase the fuel heater fuse is blown.
