Question about 1992 Buick Regal

1 Answer

Recetely purchased 92 Regal Limited 2 door, and am very happy with the car. The problem is that the back tires are wearing very quickly. I measured the distance from the front of the back tires and found it to be 2 inches less than the back of the back tires, like its pigeon toed. Would an alignment help this?

Tires for 92 bucik regal

If you have 15" mags, you will need 15" tires.
The way tire sizes work is as follows:
  • The first number (205) is the TREAD WIDTH in millimeters;
  • The second number (70) is the percentage of the specified tread width the measurement between the tread and the wheel is (which means that the distance between the tread and the wheel is 143.5mm).
  • The third number, 15, is the rim diameter in INCHES.
Do a little math and you can figure out the proper size tire for your vehicle with the after-market wheels you are using.

Tip

Tires

Your tires are the only thing between yourself and the road, make sure you take care of them.

Proper inflation is crucial for tire performance.Check the air pressure twice a month in your tires to avoid blowouts and increase gas mileage and decrease tire wear. You can purchase an adequate tire gauge at your local autoparts store for about $5.

Rotating your tires saves you money and helps to snag possible problems before they get to large.Rotate your tires every other oil change to maintain a more even tread wear. While you are rotating those tires make sure to do a quick visual and see if there is any abnormal wear(bald on one side, chopped wear pattern, etc.)

These simple steps can save you cash and keep your car or truck in better shape.Share this tip and happy motoring!

I have an AWD 2002 X5-I need a new rear tire-the tire guys tell me I need to purchase four new ones, because the tread depth must be the same on each tire or you run the risk of burning out the drive...

no!!!!! as long as the tire size matches in every number (that is critical) but manufactures took tire wear into consideration when building gear boxes.

Ideal tire pressure 2005 ford ecape limited

the manufactor puts a sticker on the passengers side rear door with recommended tire pressure.if you want a smoother ride then decrease the rear tires by 2 lbs,so if the front is supposed to be 35 lbs,put 33 lbs in the rear.try to keep the 2 rear tires the same exact and the two front the same to keep the tires from wearing un-even..unless you have a air pressure monitor in the system that lets you know when your tires need air, this way feels better. The reason for the difference from front to back in pressure is because of the weight of the engine.

92 buick front end wobble

if it is a belt in the tire, when you slide your hand over the tire you would feel a bulge that feels like a air bubble. if not than you need to have them check the wheel bearing and the power steering rack.

hope this helped
please rate well.
