My friend, It's located in the fuel tank, which means you'll probably have to drop the tank to access the sending unit and fuel pump which also means getting it as empty as possible and probably replacing the holding straps(age of car probably rusted), you may also need special fuel line tool to disconnect pressurized fuel line from tank in order to drop it. There will be(probably on top of tank) approxinmately 3 1/2" access port that fuel lines protrude from that has a locking ring to seal top of sending unit(this ring can be removed by gently tapping it to rotate it to the point(s) that it can be removed. After the steel ring is removed, the sending unit may be pulled from the tank, and the fuel pump is mounted to the sending unit along with the fuel level sending unit and the fuel sock. Hope this helps, and sorry the job isn't any easier

You need to reverse the removal procedure.

Fuel pump need replacing 1991 Buick century, where can i find it?

I'm sorry to hear that. The fuel pump is in the fuel tank. Make certain that all the rest of the fuel system working before you have to drop the tank. 1.Fuel pump relay or any fuses.2.Replace fuel filter,(inline between tank ane pressure regulator). 3.Trace power and ground wires from tank back to relay looking for breaks or pinches. 4.Look for a pump reset switch. If all that is good, then replace the pump. Good luck.

Replacing feul pump holden rodeo 1993

Cutting a hole in metal above fuel pump is way easier than dropping the fuel tank. Avoid sparks though! A shortened oiled hack saw blade on a jig saw may do the trick. Cut three sides and bend panel back, seal back with bondo, liquid nails, puttty two part epoxy, etc.

Having issues replacing the fuel pump

Hopefully there is not much gas in the tank. There are just a few things that need taked off to drop the fuel tank. The hardest may be the exhaust. But may not be in te way. There are two straps that carries the tank. Unbolt the side at the back of the car. Then it should drop. Might want to use a jack to hold the tank up if has a lot of fuel. The pump is in the tank.

Replacing fuel pump on an 05 nissan pathfinder

No special tools required. You first need to remove as much fuel as possible so the tank is not too heavy. Chock the wheels, put tranny in N, remove driveshaft making sure to mark both mating surfaces at rear diff so you put it back on exactly how it came off. Disconnect the filler hose at the tank. Next thing is to lower the tank about 4-5 inches so you can disconnect the electrical connector and hoses to the fuel pump at the top of the tank. I placed a floor jack with a 2' x 1' piece of plywood under the tank, removed the support straps, and lowered the tank enough so I could reach up and disconnect the electrical connector and fuel line hoses from the pump. Once I got everything unhooked I lowered the tank and slid it out from under the vehicle. Replacing the pump is far easier than getting the tank out. There is a locking ring you have to turn remove. Tap is with a wood block or brass punch so as to not cause any sparks. Once it is off, remove the pump and replace. If you are replacing the pump you should replace the fuel sending unit also since these things have a reputation for going bad at 60,000 miles. Installation is the reverse order.

No fuel from tank to filter

I believe the fuel pump is on the tank, as well as a filter in the tank itself.
  1. I would check for fuses for the fuel pump.
  2. I would check for power to the fuel pump. If there is power to the fuel pump, then the problem is the filter, or a stopped line. If not then replace the fuel pump. Replacing the fuel pump can be tricky, especially if you have a full tank.
  • Lower the tank to the ground.
  • The fuel pump should be on the top of the tank.
  • Remove the wires, and screws holding the fuel pump in the tank.
  • Remove pump from tank.
  • Clean filter in tank, and replace
  • Replace screws and wires.
  • Lift tank back into place, and bolt back in.

Also do not let tank run low because fuel in tank keeps in tank pump cool. This is why the pump is in the tank.
