?what does '97 Ford T.Bird 4.6 dohc V8 engine manifold looks like?

That sounds like a vacuum leak. Check all vacuum lines. If it's a plastic intake, the fittings sometimes come loose or the bolts come loose and some even crack. a411465a-d08f-4079-a8ce-4e35db1c4995.jpg 3d76ea72-45b3-4ddf-92a7-3ce6abf36a9d.jpg 60749eaa-428f-4970-8c9b-eb5cf40089b3.jpgAGCO Automotive repair service page will explain a little and has some detailed pics.

What is the 1/4" auto transmission vacuum hose connected to, from the intake manifold of a 1991 ford explorer 4x4 pushrod engine?

There should be a modulator (vacuum diaphram) on the transmission. The line from the intake manifold port connects to the 1/4-inch nipple on the modulator, which directs the transmission to shift gears at a pre-determined level of manifold vacuum.

F150 79 351m carb needs adjustment, engine idles rought but runs smooth after take off

This is not an idle adjustment. This is a vacuum leak. Check all hoses and the intake manifold gaskets.

Hi there!

The PCV valve is located at the back of the intake manifold if your engine is 5.0L V8. and if you have a 4.0L v6 engine i would say its one the valve cover by the Brake booster. Good luck

Transmission shift Engine has to be 2000 RPM for the Transmission to shift up you can let up it will change gears. Shifts fine hesitates very slight from direct to OD. Is 2000 RPM Normal

Check for vacuum leaks--especially along vacuum hose that goes to transmission or other hoses that connect near the port that the transmission vacuum line connects at the engine intake manifold. Please reply if you have more questions.

Please explain the differences between a 351C, 351M, 400

The 351C motors were made only for cars. The difference is on the thermostat and how it goes on the engine. The 351-400M motors went on the block and were identical motors exept for the bore( 4.00) and the stroke(crank).both 400-351 M use the big block pattern for the bellhousing The 351C uses a smallblock bellhousing pattern The 351C valve covers and heads will interchange not manifolds though.. The 351W looks like a 302 smallblock, with a higher deck height. the firing order is also different from a 302. Hope this helps.

Instructions on changing the timing cover gasket on a 1991 ford thunderbird with 3.8 liter v6 engine

first you have to diconnect throttle cable and trans kick down from throttle body. than disconnect wires and vacuum hoses and remove upper intake manifold plenum. that should give you access to valve covers . Remove bolts from covers and change gaskets. also replace the gasket on the upper intake plenum. install items in reverse order of removal. keep track of vacuum lines where the go when you remove . mark with tape their location.
