Ac blows hot air

I have had a similar problem quite a few years ago. You don't mention the model or year of your vehicle. It could be a relay that is on the firewall just below or behind the firewall in engine compartment in front of driver's side of the car. It took a really savvy MB mechanic an hour to locate and fix after 2 months in other shops, including an MB dealership. Mine was a 1988 560SEL that had that problem. After that was fixed, it worked perfectly for another 5 years - at which time I sold the car.
I hope this helps...

1998 Chevy Prizm A/C and Cooling Fan Problems

Compressor could not work without cooling fan comming on.
Check compressor mounting bolts and belt placement on pulley regarding the noise.
But before we get to the a/c system repairs its important to have a properly working cooling system.

Is the car overheating ? It should if neither fan works.
If I recall correctly the fan switch is usually on the upper radiator hose coupling.
you may want to test the fan(s) its self. Remove the electical connectors fron the fan(s) , fabricate a set of jumper wires and run it from the battery. If this works the fan(s) are ok . If it doesn't replace the ones that don't work.
The coolant switch aka fan switch is usually tested with an ohmmeter . Use shop manual for testing procedure.
Test the a/c fan and engine cooling fan relays. (see shop manual for details)
Then I would start looking at coolant( correct mixture and thermostat2_bing.gif) although the thermostat is not likely to cause this.
If all of this still doesn't correct the problem it may be the ECU that monitors this system it may not be responding to the signal /voltage from coolant temp sensor to turn on the fan, (again nedd shop manual to test this)
Once you have a properly working cooling systemnow you can turn your focus on the a/c. Compressors either work or they don't.For you safety I recommend having the a/c system serviced by a ASE certified Technician or a tech's who legally can perform a/c service. Good luck

I too have the same issue with the compressor noise

I am Ron,I will try and help,,what valve? It sounds like you need to check to see if the cooling fans are working, and working properly when ac is on.If it has two cooling fans ,are they both working? If not, find out why not(check fan relays and fan itself to see if it is good)also if the fan or fans are kicking in high speed after ac pressure exceeds 225psi.If I can help please ask,,,roniecon@gmail.com

Noise coming form engine compartment. maybe the a/c compressor clutch. a/c off and the lines are cold

ac clutch is not working fine, ac compressor is staying on even though when you turn it off, check clutch and also check freon level it migh be causing the problem

Heater/ac fan doesn't work

i would first check the connections on the back of the fan blower assembly for lose fit. make sure the coupler is tight. if the problem persist, the motor itself may be dead. Click here for blower motor prices and inventories.

Cooling fans will not work

No need to replace the compressor. That will solve nothing. The electrical wire connection to the compressor clutch can be replaced.

If the low speed fan doesn't come on, but the system works when cooling air is blown through it, that says that whatever temperature sensor is used is working. It also seems that, if the fuse is OK, then the switch for the fan isn't working. There should be a switch module down there near the fan (you'd see wires from the fan to a harness, and it'll plug into a module). I'd be willing to try replacing that switch and see if it solves the problem.

AIR DOES NOT WORK DO I JUST NEED FREEON

If the air conditioner blow warm air,

1. Open the hood and check the fan belt first, sometime the fan belt broke caused the compressor stop to work, if the fan belt is good, check the compressor see if the center part turns, if turns, that means the compressor is o.k.

2. If both work fine, check the air conditioner small window see if there is bubble, if you see some bubbles in the small round window, that’s means your air conditioner lack
R-22 Freon.

3. before you fill up the Freon, check the leaking, if leaks, fix it and then fill up the Freon, the best way is to ask some professional auto air conditioner repair shop to help you.

Hope this can help you.
