Starter doesn't run long enough for my car to start. It only turns twice; I need at least three rev's. How do I adjust starter run time?

The starter run time is non adjustable. It should turn over as long as you hold the key in the start position

Car starts but will not rev. It starts rev a little then break down. what should I do?

get it checked by a good mechanic as soon as possible. sounds as though it needs timing/ignition servicing or just general servicing and repair.

Engine revs

Have your battery load tested either at a place likeAutoZone or advanced auto ( they will do it for free ) Sometimes there is just enough surface charge to crank the engine and get it started but not enough to run the onboard electronics and start the battery charging

My emissions control light is on my honda 2003 element. I replaced the air filter and the pcv valve. the light is still on and in nuetral or park the engine won't rev past 5K

The easist thing would be to take the vehicle to any Autozone parts store near you. They will retrieve the diagnostic trouble code that is stored in the onboard diagnostic system and tell you what the code is and what it means. And the best part is that they do it for free.
Once you get your code, you can get your car fixed based on that, or you can ask here, and ill be glad to help you further. hope this helps and goodluck.

Hi there,i have a c200 elegance 2005,i seem to be having problem after problem and my pride and joy is becoming a money pit!! well here goes,it wont rev past 3000 revs, i was told this would be the mass...

You must be having a check engine light or maintenance coming up on the dashboard, if yes the best way to start troubleshooting this problem is to run a diagnostic test on the vehicle. Also after changing the mass air flow meter did you reset the ECM ?If not then this is required after any repair you do.Hope this helps.

I dont know how to pull the codes on a 1993 volvo

Volvo Code Retrieval Accessing Trouble Codes 89-93 models (and later non-turbo/non-OBDII models)

Fuel Codes Locate the diagnostic unit behind left strut tower and remove its cover.(see image) Connect selector cable to socket #2,which tests the fuel codes. Turn the ignition switch to the ON position(engine not running). Enter the diagnostic mode by pressing the push button on the diagnostic unit for at least 1 second, but not more than 3 seconds. The red LED light will start to flash, count the number of flashes in 3 flash intervals. The flashes will be seperated by 3 second intervals.Make note of all codes. If no codes are stored, the LED will flash 1-1-1,which means the fuel system is operating correctly.

Ignition Codes To access the ignition codes, follow the above procedure, but with the selector cable connected to the #6 socket on the diagnostic unit.
NOTE:Turbocharged models may have seperate codes for the turbo system and are accessse by hooking the selector cable to the #5 socket.

Rev counter falling below 1000rpm when warm, nearly stalling

If this is a 1.8 petrol model then the idling adjuster/throttle stop screw needs to be adjusted.Slight adjustment can be done without a diagnostic tool ,loosen the lock nut holding the throttle screw found near the throttle cable, adjust this in clockwise to increase revs.
