Question about 2000 Ford Windstar
If the car runs fine when you remove the vacuum hose, the odds are there's an issue with the hose itself. The hose could be cracked, or partially blocked. easiest fix would be to replace the hose and see what happens.

Well Ford dealers aren't always the best place to take older cars for service. Removing a vacume hose makes it run smooth is unusal and so something thats making it run too rich or the idele speed motor is bad. Most of the time when the engine runns badly the check engine light will be on and the engine control computer will store codes that help a mechanic find the right system to repair.. Auto zone and Adcance Auto parts will hook a scanner to your car to see what codes are in there. But their not a repair shop and what they tell you is what the machine said and is not always what the root problem is. But it'll give you a place to start. Once they do there test they know their customers and can direct you to a shop that works on older models like yours and get right to the real problem as they do this kind of work all the time.
