You can buy the valve separate either post the carb list number or take the HOLLEY list number to a Hygrade parts supplier and the can get you the proper valve. You will need 2 gaskets to remove the front float bowl and metering plate to change the valve. It screws into the primary metering plate. It takes a inch 12 point socket. If you post the Holley Carblist number I can give you the Hygrade Power Valve number.

The valve screws into the metering plate using a 1 inch 12 point socket. I believe there is a short brass pump transfer coinnecting the metering plate to main body with an ?`ring on each end. A drop of oil on the rings will make it go back in without damaging the ?`rings

What kind of carburater would you use for a 1971 dodge pace arrow that has a 413 engine to get maximum gas mileage

You might check with an old dodge/Chrysler mechanic. A friend of mine had a similar old dodge motorhome (just a small one, too). Had to quit using it, never left his house. He said at 6 miles to the gallon, he couldn't afford to start it up!
Does it have a 4-barrel carb on it now? You would probably find that 4-barrel is just as efficient as a 2-barrel that would have less oomph.

If your vehicle has one, and I think it does, check your EGR system. If the egr valve is full of carbon, it can be partially open, creating a vacuum leak. If the egr valve solenoid is bad, it could be opening the valve at the wrong time, also creating a vacuum leak. Unplug the egr vacuum hose, plug the open end of the hose and start it and see what it does. A picture of the egr is below.

I hav 2000 grand marqius ls - When I changed spark plog thei found engine oil on it particularly cylinder No. 3 and 4 that the car was Shaking before I change the spark

When you get oil into the cylinders that are side by side, you may have a bad head gasket or bad stem seals on the valves. When all 4 cylinders on that side of the engine are oil-covered you can have additional problems like bad piston rings.

You should have a compression test to determine what the condition of the rings is before removing a head. If the compression is good, a good mechanic may be able to change the Valve seals without a complete teardown. If not, the problem must be fixed by pulling the bad head.

The valve cover gasket isn't hard to change. Oil on the plugs indicates a more serious problem. Smoke from the exhaust would be from rings, rich mixture, worn valve guides. It may be that the engine is overfull (that would show on the stick). Oil loss from a leaking gasket would smoke under the hood and leave oil on the engine and the ground.

You need to rebuild the carburetor. As it is a 1 barrel its relatively easy to rebuild if you can find a kit, but it is the original carb and difficult to find parts. You may also consider buying a Holley 2 barrel carb - it will bolt right on and give you more power, and they are much more common and easier to find rebuild kits and parts. It's possible you may need an adapter plate, depending on the configuration of your intake manifold, but that will be easy to find. You can either shop online or buy from your local auto parts store or high performance shop. That old 1 barrel has had its day and I'm sure it served you well, but I think I would upgrade to a newer carb myself. You may be able to clean it out using carb cleaner spray but it would be hard to clear out that clogged jet that is causing your trouble, and then you will likely tear the gasket when you take the top off that carb.

Having truble with my carburater on a 1984 ford 1500 how can i rebuild it

You can order rebuild kits at your local auto parts store. Tell them the model, and engine size. They will also need some details about your carburetor, such as - 4 barrel or 2? Follow the instructions in the kit exactly, and replace all the gaskets/seals, whether they look like they need it or not.

How to adjust fuel mixture 2 barrel carburater for

In the late 70's they mandated that the adjustment screws be capped over. If they haven't been exposed, there will be two plugs covering them on the baseplate. Air adjustment screws are always somewhere on the base of all carbs with the only exception being on Holley 4bbl carbs used on performance engines (definitely not yours)

That is a hard problem to pin point without knowing what codes the computer has stored. It can be any number or sensors or engine problems.

You can go to most auto parts stores and they will pull the codes for you for free.
